Got 2k downloads on the first night and on the second got 1.6k. This is iPhone and iPad combined but iPad downloads have been a bit better. I am not to sure if this amount of downloads is good though,

I'm pretty sure you should always stick to 72, because GS will do some messed up stuff if not. And if you have Retina Display graphics, moving to iPad should be really easy.
