used this method for a multitouch game on the ipad that had 8 different actors that needed to have the possibility of all being dragged around at the same time. Modifying the joystick demo worked gre

iPhone 4 has slightly better spec I believe than iPad 1, iPad 2 though could handle being ran over my a tank

I believe the iPad 1 is the same general hardware as the iphone 4. still would prob run into issue up around 100 actors and going over would prob be like Game Suicide.
