I was just wondering, how did everyone first hear about Gamesalad? I saw the gamesalad logo in bladeolson's jumpo and looked it up out of curiosity. How about you guys?

I think this is the most relevant category for this, but sorry if I'm wrong.

I was just searching on google for adventure game design software & found this in November last year. Then I played Grisly Manor and decided to give Gamesalad a go as it seemed to suit what I was looking for.

I'd been playing doodle jump on my wifes ipod touch (that I bought her so at Christmas we could have music and pregnancy apps during labour in January 2010) )

A week later I was searching google to see how you go about app creation, I downloaded Xcode got scared, looked at Unity scared.... found GameSalad.... got addicted...and made my first app and 'Contented Baby Sleep' during my 2 week paternity leave and had it on the app store before I got back to work.

Haha, well I was a basic pc user. I was spending a lot of my time on the computer learning BASIC. I realized that I couldn't really make much money from my BASIC apps, so I decided that when I had enough money, and when I needed a new computer, I would get a Mac. So I bought a Mac in April of 2009. I got used to it, and wanted to start learning Xcode. That would obviously take a VERY long time, so I searched the web for alternatives to iPhone app making. I stumbled upon GameSalad one of the searches, so I downloaded in October of 2009, and had my first app in the store at the end of January, 2010. It's been a year, and I'm still making games...
Long lice the App Store... And GS!!!

I got started around christmas last year when I heard a couple people were getting money every week and stuff just for making an app. So I looked it up on youtube. "how to make an iphone app?" and all that came up was xcode. EXCEPT for one video.

And that got me to look it up. Next thing I know, mac for christmas and got GS on my mac.

I was looking at some magazines in tesco, and a Mac magazine had a feature advertised on the front cover about creating games with no programming, had a look and bought a mac mini the next week!

I was just searching my finder and I found it and I was like oh a game creation program just what I've wanted.
  • I started of using C in XNA making Xbox Live Indie games but eventually moved on as it had little support from Microsoft and the remaining people there were pretentious and just generally unhelpful.
