Daz 3D Question

nightskynightsky Posts: 23Member
Morning All,

I am looking to purchase models off Daz 3D so I can create rendered back drops for a point and click adventure. What I do not get is how the licensing works.

It says something about a Single Use or Multi-Use License for each model, however when I click on a model to buy it, there is no options. Just the one option to buy. Am I missing something?

You can't place Daz3D models directly into a game (if you were using something like Unity for example) without buying a licence.

However, you *can* use 2D rendered images of your models in-game 'as is' without the need for a new licence.

    Hope that helps.

    QS :D

    They changed their licensing model...

It's more Unity friendly now. If BOT is very successful, the sequel might be done with Unity and a Game Developer License from Daz 3D.

Daz has a lot of restrictions because they have lots of user created models. And that $500 is a charge per game you make. Although that's for using the actual model itself, and not a rendered image.

Poser is very similar to this as well when it comes to the actual 3D model. It's free to use the rendered images, though. I don't know about Daz, are they the same way?

I have no friends. I'm a loser that makes video games all day. Will you be my friend?
