Vector Vs Bitmap

No, I'm not kidding when I tell you those are my cats names, and no I'm not kidding when I ask if GameSalad cares if an image is one or the other as far as memory, performance, etc? (like Flash does).

and yes they did have kittens named Raster and Pixel. </graphicsnerd>

GameSalad doesn't support vector art right now. so yeah it cares. :)

You have to save your vectors as pngs when your ready to load it to GameSalad

It's not my fault I never learned to take responsibility for anything. ;)

Good, cuz I suck at vector art.

Bad, cuz vector art eats tons less resources.

Yet it might eat more speed in the core engine. I don't know much about this actually, but flash is made for animation so most of it's engine is built around this. I don't know a lot of engine that handle vector in-game.

Not necessarily true. Even though vector art is lighter in file size, it still has to be converted to pixels to display on a screen. That is a processor intensive task. I work with Flash and have produced an iPhone/Android app with Flash. All the support documentation regarding performance from Adobe recommends using "cache a bitmap" whenever possible to keep performance up. Or use bitmaps when possible.

design219. That's very interesting. I did not know that (obviously). And I consider that very good news. :)

Awesome name for your cats :-) I actually thought of naming a cat pixel before, but then I remembered that cats are evil :-)
