Creating an element like wind in a game

Has anyone attempted to create a "wind" like element in a game?

I wanted to create wind effects that would blow my main character (actor) away from it's current position, anyone attempted this yet?

It's easy pretty easy, actually. Create a new actor with your wind image, or just keep it transparent (I recommend the former so that the player actually knows that wind is moving him/her), and have it move to the right at a constant speed. When the wind actor is over the main character, have the main character accelerate to the right, for say, 5 seconds (change this number to whatever you like, depending on the intensity and strength you want the wind to be). Then create a new actor the does the exact same thing except to the left.

This wiki tells you how to track that one actor is over another. http://gamesalad.com/wiki/how_to_gsc_track_if_actor_is_over_another
