edited November -1 in Working with GS (Mac)
I have always been able to place my GameSalad creations into iTunes and then add them to my iTouch.

All of a sudden when I try to play it, it goes to a black screen and the following pops up:

Validation failed - publishing license is not valid

How do I fix this? I've tried re-publishing my game with different settings to no avail.

I had the same problem not your issue it's to do with the gs server. Delete your app out of iTunes and off iPhone resync then try again it it still says the same error then email gs and they will sort it there end.

At the bottom of the page under the heading ABOUT US you will see CONTACT US or go here:

Fill in the form and they will resolve the server problem as soon as they can.
  • Update: I emailed them about 21 hours ago... Still no answer

A majority of the team (all except one) was on vacation this weekend, so give em time.
  • ok thanks for the info
  • I am still having this issue as well.

Looking into it, I haven't been able to reproduce the issue with my own account, so I will likely be requesting more details. Since we're still working on fixing issues for the 0.8.2 build there may be a delay in getting back to you. Apologies in advanced.
  • How long of a delay? I was planning on testing my game on the actual hardware now that it's nearly finished and works on the simulator - I want to get a feel for it.
  • It's now been over a day since I've had this issue and it's still broken.

    This is a necessity.

    Dude! Duuuuuude!

Some of the guys have been at MacWorld/Game Jams this weekend. CodeMonkey's been working ALL WEEKEND to fix bugs for EVERYONE.

I understand your frustration, I really do. But will another day really make a huge difference to your schedule? (Actually, thinking about it, if you're making a valentine app I guess it would!).

    QS :)

Dr. Sam Beckett never returned home...

  • Yes I understand that their time is taken at the moment with MacWorld and bug fixes.

I just want a rough estimate as to when I can expect to be able to demonstrate my game on my iTouch. I didn't ask for immediate assistance, I just don't want to be left in the dark.

Sorry, your tone suggested you were growing impatient with the delay.

Dr. Sam Beckett never returned home...

  • Understandable. I re-read what I wrote and I see what you mean. Sorry about that.

My intentions were to simply state my problem and get an estimate on solution.

Quick question. Everyone with problems publishing, are you using portrait modes instead of landscape (tall instead of wide)?

If you are, try publishing in landscape mode and see if that fixes it.

I am having the same problem as everyone.... And no I am not using the tall mode....Is it because i havnt updated to newest version????

Yes, please upgrade to the newest version...
  • Problem solved for me. I updated and it still didn't work, but then i uploaded my app as a new app and changed the app ID and it worked perfectly.
    Thanks for the help
