Loving the latest version of GS 0.8.2!

Thanks Codemonkey and the GS team for fixing up and patching the latest version of GS!

I'm loving it and noticing differences in framerates! My games are running much smoother, and very happy with this update!

(sorry, as a result of my enthusiasm, I forgot to place this topic in the right category, my bad!)

    I agree! So far things have worked very well! Great job GS! Thanks also to all those folks who jumped right into 0.8.0 and 0.8.1 and gave GS feedback - I was too much of a wimp! (and too busy with two kids)

    What issues are you having Vmlweb? Just curious,

    So far in testing my games, it's been way better, and loving the new framerates!

    For starters, the 'preserve scene' when changing scenes is broken.

    Also, some actors work sometimes, some don't.

    AND - spawning still isn't working 100%

    Other than that, yes, it's always great to have an update, and kudos to CodeMonkey and the team for sorting stuff and releasing updates!

    Don't get too comfy though, folks - we're not out of the woods yet ;)

    Yes, anticipating the next updates :)

    I guess I'm lucky with spawning as I try not to use it that often.... but there are some games where it's necessary

    Ya i've also noticed that platform collisions aren't working well either. Our game worked perfectly before .8 then i upgraded tested my game and the actors are falling through the platforms

    migueldequadros, how do you have collisions set up? i.e. where is your collide rule.

    Its on the actors at the very top of the code actor collides with object type platform. I checked double checked and triple checked and my code was the same as before and it worked perfectly before, iMMUNE 2 lite was made with .7 and it was perfect but continuing on with the full game now the collision problems... Ill get our team to recheck it see if we missed anything

    Ok, this is getting silly, and seeing as the 'help' topic for the patch has disappeared off the stickies, I'm putting this here.

    I've got the sound working. Nice.

    However, GS is deciding, seemingly at random, to work or not to work in certain areas.

    My ship, once shields are down, should blow up. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

    'Tracker' ships (they track your position and shoot at you) sometimes work, sometimes just shoot at nothing.

    My battleships (you sank my etc) had a rule that if hit, their alpha would reduce to .5 for .1 seconds, otherwise alpha should be 1. This doesn't work anymore.

    There's a fix coming, right? Right??? I'VE GOT NOWHERE ELSE TO GO!!!!

    That sums it up quantumsheep!
    My character will be walking along fine then all the sudden boom he falls through the platforms! Then you press the jump button sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't it's weird! I love gs but they seem to have slipped up a bit here please fix this, and add some video support so we can add cutscenes and intro vids

    hmmm I need to do some more testing on my games, and see if that's the case with my latest game... the disappointing thing was that my old games are not working, and I wish we could keep the programming the way it was... hope there will be a patch or update to this to address these issues

    So is 0.8.2 the last update for now until 0.9.0 comes out at the end of next month, or is there 0.8.3 coming in the short-term? My timers are still a tad screwy in Spellcaster for some things.

    I'm pretty sure there'll be a .83 - still a lot of issues, and adent said they were working on fixing them (from the .82 build).
