The icon for Galastar once it hits the App store. Took me forever to find the radius for it's corners. what do you think?

Seems to work reasonably well, although I'm not sure the glow translates to the smaller size too well and the inner radius of the bezel/frame should ideally be smaller than the outer radius, besides that I'd say it was certainly going in the right direction.

I did notice myself how the inner radius is about the same, I tried shrinking the selection in photoshop, but apparently the radius did not change, I'll if I can fix it by other means though.

Looks good, but I'd lose the glow, when it Shrinks down it makes it look blurry.

    Hey ADS, hope you're well!

I don't know how far along with Galastar you are, but I did check it out on Youtube and it may be too late but...

Personally, I'd consider making the game in portrait mode as opposed to landscape.

Reason being, it's an arcade shooter. If you look at the classics (which I'm sure you're familiar with), vertical shooters had a, well, 'vertical' play area.

Think of Galaga. Galaxian. Moon Cresta. They needed more vertical real estate so you could see the enemies coming and have time to react.

Games such as Gradius, Defender, Scramble etc were horizontal shooters. They needed more real estate on the left and right, again so you had time to see and react to enemies.

It's a small point but worth bringing up I think (and apologies as I don't remember seeing this game before!).

Another tip, and this can be applied to most games I feel: Double the speed of everything.

Player movement. Shooting speed. Enemy speed. Enemy bullet speed. Even background star movement. Double it!

Seriously, give it a try. I think it would make the game more exciting to play (especially in conjunction with a vertical setup).

If it's too late, then ignore what I've said! It was just the first thing I thought when I watched your youtube example vids!

    Cheers, and good luck!

Yep, less glow, and possibly don't have the G tilted/in italics. :)

    @quantumsheep

I can definitely agree with you on that. I would've changed it to portrait, but it's too late to do that now as you said, Galastar however, is planned to have several games come afterwards. So I'll definitely put it in portrait mode for that. Speeding up everything probably would be a good idea too. I have given thoughts about speeding the things up, since I started to find the game rather slow paced, and with the addition of enemy health, the delay of shots would be too long to kill off most of the enemies. Thank you, I appreciate the Criticism! :)

It's actually part of the logo: photo ScreenShot2013-01-23at83202PM_zps3f5763c2.png

I most likely will get rid of the glow from what you and @socks said. But may I ask what's the problem with italicizing it? I have heard that the G looks a bit like a D. Is that it by chance?

@ADSentertainment - I'd have to see what it looks like after you unblur it before you try anything with italics actually.
