Good ways to get your app up there?

Hey everyone, I was wondering what are some good ways or good sites to get your app up there with all the others does anyone know of any good and reliable ones?

Nothing legit, a lot of luck and hope it gets featured or popular media outlets cover it.

Honestly, the only thing that has made a difference, sales wise, is being featured by Apple.

You'll need a good game for that and a lot of luck.

Or, as the head of one particular mobile company admitted to me the other day, 'You need to know someone at Apple that will put your game forward for consideration.'

I'm not going to name names, obviously, but I was rather saddened by that snippet of info...

I have heard that same thing before as well. I have read that you should try and network with anybody Apple related that you can, attend seminars, lunches, anything and everything to try and get yourself in the door.

You could try setting up a Facebook app page and do the promotion stuff with them. I spent about $100 and up to 470 likes on my App Facebook page in about a weeks time. Before I only had like 10.

I'm not sure how this translates to downloads but it's a good start to get the name of your App out there. I have 300 downloads with my simple app since I released it last week and really had no coverage in the media besides Facebook promo and telling friends.

But I'm really not sure how much I can give credit to Facebook , it's still a good way to build up an audience as they specify who your adverts target ( ie ios , mobile, games, etc. ) and Facebook has a lot of users ;)
