Its just so tempting, but I won't...

With Timberman climbing high and some truly awful clones on google play and Amazon, it's SO tempting to cash in with a clone that ticks lots of boxes and makes large amounts of money through sales. I did that when Flappy Bird was the craze. My original game, did extremely well on Amazon netting me a large pot of cash in the process.

However, this time I have decided not to jump on the clone wagon. With 3 games in the works right now I think I am more prepared to sit it out and focus on quality and a better gaming experience instead of cloning. Anyone else in the same situation, outside of those dead against cloning ;)

Its always tempting to make money :)
But you might feel just a little bit better about yourself not going for the clone thing :)

    Edit:
But again, money ist the main reason alot of people make games

Here I am thinking if I should finally get around to making a Flappy Bird clone, I usually don't feel much passion or motivation to make clones so by the time I get round to planning one the time has already well and truly passed. However, I have just made a kind of clone/parody of a popular app which is admittedly awful but in a way intentionally bad, hopefully it might do well as the silly, pointless apps tend to do.
I admire the lack of bandwagon jumping-on-ness. :p

Imagine if Google said "I'm so tempted to make a phone/OS just like the iPhone, but I'll be a nice guy and not do it..." LOL :)

I read Kim Kardashian stands to make $200 million off her game, you should jump on her wagon after all everyone else has.. ;)

I guess it depends on why one makes games. If you're just here to make cash and it's strictly business for you then yeah go for it. If one is interested in being creative and hopes to be know for their design and creative ability then money is secondary. @RP and I hope to be known for our creative ability and talent than cash. Nobody remembers a clone make but people remember someone who does something creative and novel.

To each his own... We all see satisfaction in different ways.
