Aso when you have a 72 DPI image in game salad with resolution independence, size go to half, thats normal.

But I you have double DPI, 144 , Size go to 1/4.

So what is the recommendation of the DPI we should make our images.

72 DPI is neutral, stick with that. But what is more important is the actual pixel resolution, not the DPI, as you are dealing with displays, not print.

But if you are sure 72 would be ok, then thats good.

Make sure you have enough resolution.

For an actor 100x100, you should have a 200x200 pixel texture. What DPI it set as should have no effect whatsoever.

DPI is important when you have a physical output (i.e. you are printing the graphics). If it stays in digital form (as in the case of a computer game), DPI is a pointless measurement.

Sometimes not setting it to 72 will do the half sizing stuff to your images. What you are seeing though is probably due to your image not being large enough to match the actor you are using.

As @pHghost‌ mentioned our image pixel sizes should be double your actor sizes.

It's not my fault I never learned to take responsibility for anything. ;)
