edited November -1 in Announce Your Game!
This game I made before I even new anything about GameSalad. I used Cocos2d to make it. It only took 32 days to get approved. It was rejected twice for game tags. Please give me a good review since I'm giving you free codes...It does help with sales. Here is the Promo codes with a complete description of the game and it's link to the app store. If I have any extra codes I will post them later. There is also a LITE version in the app store.

Promo Codes

App Store Link:

Object - 'It' is kinda like the game called 'BopIt'. You have six different tasks that will pop up on the screen, and you must complete a task in a short amount of time. After every five tasks that you complete, the time to complete a task gets shorter. So the farther you go, the faster it gets. The shortest amount of time to complete a task is just under one second. Then it becomes a game of concentration.

Tasks - Here is a list of the six tasks that are randomly picked for you to complete.
* Tap It - Just touch one finger to the screen anywhere.
* Flick It - Touch one finger to the screen and drag across it.
* Pinch It - Touch two fingers and drag them inward.
* Stretch It - Touch two fingers and drag them outward.
* Shake It - Shake the device.
* Say It - Say the word 'it' into the microphone. (You can say anything, but it needs to be loud enough for the microphone to hear it).

Categories - You have three categories to choose from: Easy, Medium and Hard. These categories are set from the 'Start screen' and are based on the number of tasks you have turned on. You must have four tasks turned on for Easy, five for Medium, and six for Hard.

Game Types - You have two types of games. You can set this at the 'Start screen'. The first is 'Single'. You play this by yourself and it keeps your score so you can post on the High Score server. The second game is 'Multi'. You can play this with a group of friends. When the game starts you most get five tasks correct then you will get the message 'Pass It'. You then pass the device to the next player. You will have four seconds to pass the device. After every pass the game will speed up until someone does not complete five tasks and has been eliminated from the game. Keep doing this until you only have one player (the winner).

Scoring - Scoring is only for the single player mode. It is based on the number of categories you have chosen. You get points for attempting the task, so you will never get a zero score. You get points as follows for each task attempted:
* Easy (four categories) = 4 points.
* Medium (five categories) = 5 points.
* Hard (six categories) = 6 points.

Tips - Here is a list of things to remember when playing.
* (1) You will fail a task if you do any other task than the one requested.
* (2) If you have 'Say It' turned on, then remember it will pickup any loud nosies which will cause you to fail the task if the task is anything other than 'Say It'. Regular noise levels will not trigger the microphone.
* (3) If you have 'Shake It' turned on, then remember it will pickup your shake which will cause you to fail the task if the task is anything other then 'Shake It'. Regular movement will not trigger the shake.

    I am getting the following message from your link:
    (The item you've requested is not currently available in the US store)

    It can take up to 12 hours for it to be available at all app stores. If you try to access the app store via your iphone or ipod it should work.

    The 'It Lite' link is working, but not the 'It' link. I sent Apple an email complaining about the link not working. Please let me know what you think. My kids play this all the time.

    I have other forums that I belong to that have asked for more code, so I'm out. You can still try the codes listed in the first post.

    Check it out. My game "It" is featured on the app store. Look under the "New and Noteworthy".

    If you go to the app store then select games under the app store dropdown you will see "It". I know it's not a GS game, but I think it cool to be selected. My sales have picked up today and I've been contacted (email) from half a dozen places to review my app. I wish I had saved more than three promo codes.

    Congrats James - I did see that earlier - nice!

    How did you manage it? How long was the app out before it got featured?

    Inquisitive minds want to know!

    It was out on the 14 and was featured today. Never got any kind of notification about it. If you look back at an earlier post on this forum you will see that my link did not work. The reason was because it was picked to be featured and it has a different link. I guess I shouldn't have sent my pissy emails asking to have the link fixed.

    I have no idea how much this helps sales until I check tomorrow. I can tell you that its moved up about 240 spots on the games/family list. Also a lot more scores have been posted today on the high score server that I use. Five different countries have also posted scores today.

    I really don't know how I got picked. Some articles that I've read said graphics is the key. I think the graphics look nice (thanks to my son), but I really don't know.

    FYI... 'It' has just moved up another 180 spots... You have to remember that a lot of these apps that it's moving up past have been out there for awhile. Going to bed will check in the morning.

    Well it doesn't suck to be featured. I was only on the featured list for five hours the first day and my sales really picked up. I wonder how long you get to stay on the featured list? Any body know?

    I think it's for about a week, or more depending how popular it is

    Grats on getting featured!

    So, can you see your sales in real time, I have yet to post a game, but I have one in the works.

    If you don't mind me asking, what kind of sale are you guys getting?
  • JamesBoucherJamesBoucher Posts: 433Member
    I'm not sure if you're suppose to talk about sales figures. I think that is part of the agreement you have with Apple when you signed up. You can get sales reports from apple daily, weekly and monthly. The reports come out in the morning.

    I can tell you that when I released some of my earlier games under games/family that they got down to about page 36. The lite version got down to about page 20. This is out of 100 pages. Now there are 156 pages for this same category. So I think it's harder to get down that low. The key is staying down in the 20s with a paid app. After about 3-4 days your app start to climb back up.

    I don't know if that helps.
