Using a table for levels

I am sure I have stumbled upon this before in a tutorial, I just can't seem to locate it. Isn't there a way to use tables to set up levels. So my overall goal is to pretty much not use a level select system. It will just start at level one, then if you succeed, proceed to level 2 with new layout, then to level 3 etc. It will start over if you fail a level. I just need to be pointed in the direction of the table for this, im sure I can figure the rest out. Thanks

It's not clear how you plan to use a table to implement your level system. Tables are just a way to store and retrieve many attributes. You can just as easily store the current level number in a single attribute.
