More GameSalad Templates on App Store

I hate to say it... actually, I'm not... but I am really getting tired of seeing the trend of people either using the GS templates for profit or full-on stealing other peoples work on the App Store.

Here is another one - it may be Rod Hammonds brother for all I know. And it didn't take much looking around to determine that the individual in question is still active on the boards.

http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/cannon-bash/id415182140?mt=8

So... if you are the 'proud' owner of Cannon Bash (or any other GS template rip-off) on the App Store, please kindly remove it, change the price to free or at least donate the profits to charity. Surely you don't deserve them by adding a simple level select.

I realize that it can be a grey area but surely the majority of us are old enough or have followed enough of the threads on these boards that talk about this sort of ethical treatment to know better.

And kudos to GS for looking into clamping down on this nonsense.

There are actually levels designed though. I'm mean the art is for sure ripped off but he did build some levels

It's not my fault I never learned to take responsibility for anything. ;)

If I 'publish' a game via GS, it gets uploaded to GS's server, right?

I'm assuming yes; and if yes, then I'm hesitant on creating a game with GS. I don't want to be ripped off by some newbie developer looking for quick money by stealing my game file.

If you publish a web game to game salad then yes it is up there and available to possibly get ripped off by those who know how. But building your game fir iOS with game salad only sends the project to their server to be complied and its returned. I don't even know if they store all the data that is uploaded once its been sent back. that seems like their could be some legal issues with keeping it. and not to mention the storage. So I doubt it.

Quit looking for a reason to leave and just go if your gonna go and make a freaking game if your gonna stay

The only people who have access to your game file are the employees of Gendi Games and it would be bad business to have your employees stealing games.

If you build a game from a template so what? How else are people going to learn?
As long as it's not someones web game or an unmodified template then I see no problem.

I have zero issues if a person chooses to post a game that they used a template to learn from... but to profit from it when? C'mon. Where do you draw the line? How much 'effort' do they need to put into it? A level selection screen?
