1280 x 800 graphics want to resize for Mac App Store builds? - huh?

So why do .pngs (1280x800) want to resize during import, if my MAS scenes are set to 1280 x 800? Doesn't
make sense to me? Like a splash screen?

    Not positive on this, but I believe I read someone's post that said the largest image you can use in GS is a 1024x1024.

    But, that's just something I THINK I remember seeing.

    it is due to the maximum texture size in OpenGLES 1.1 being 1024x1024. This is what the original iphone and 3G can support. Technically, anything after the 3GS can support 2048x2048. But backwards compatibility is necessary so the limit is set at 1024.
