RushDawg said: What's the best way to make a trailer for your game? My game is 100% ready to submit, but I'm having trouble making a trailer to promote it.
I've tried iShowU HD Pro, but I can't seem to get rid of the demo water mark. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
if you want to use that with no watermark you will have to buy it. otherwise quicktime is your only less featured option
It's not my fault I never learned to take responsibility for anything.
I've just been using iMovie. On the mac app store, there was a movie making software for free for a while. It wasn't very professional, but it had some cool animations that might fit for a game. It was called Moso. It's still free.

iMovie is great for editing but you still need a good screen record software. I use Quick time but quick time plus imovie equals grey bars around the edge of your video which definitely is less professional that other options.

Any advice on how to block out the areas of my screen that aren't showing my game while recording?
Someone mentioned black bars. Is there a way to add these in with iMovie?
Thanks again!

Yes, it's just black rectangles made in any image editing software, and you can put them on top and bottom for that fake widescreen effect, and you can put it on the sides too if that's what you need. You may even be able to make the bars within iMovie. Though, I'm not positive, because I don't use iMovie, I use FCP. You can still make them in any image editing software, either way, and use them in iMovie.
I have no friends. I'm a loser that makes video games all day. Will you be my friend?
I use screenflow or quicktime to capture game play and also some simple scrolls over large artwork form the game. Then I use the new imovie trailer editor, which makes things very easy.
Has anyone ever used the finger pointer image instead of the curser to represent touches and swipes in Screenflow? I'm thinking it might be quite... er... handy.... if you get the point.... Sorry, just being a knucklehead!

It looks like I'll be using QuickTime.

Thanks so much for the help. I've successfully made a trailer for Helicopters in Space, my first game.
