Accelerometer quick question

I'm using an acceleration movement for my actor and its connected to the accelerometer. More specifically just the x (left/ right) movements. Everythings great except one thing- when the actor hits a wall the character basically stops. This is a problem because when the user wants to then move the opposite direction it takes a beat or two to get moving (like moving a boulder from stop position- when i want it more like a marble ).
Any thoughts?
Thanks so much!

@anatomyofdreams its difficult to understand what you want to do. Be more clear and precise.

When my character hits the left most or right most part of the screen he stops because i've put a wall there. Now if i want the character to go the other direction i'll tilt the device in that other direction. Problem is, because the character is going from zero mph (stopped to go)- it takes a short while for him to move. Kinda like pushing a boulder from stop position. I need the movement to be faster. My question is simple, how can i (with acceleration movement on my actor) make the stop to go movement faster and smoother using accelerometer controls. Thanks!

Here's something I made for you that might help.

@Manto1 I really can't tell you how much I appreciated your demo. Many many thanks! In looking at your demo I realized what I may have done wrong. My game was setup nearly identical to yours except for one tiny little detail- the "apply max speed" check box. It was unchecked. The minute I checked it, the game did exactly as your demo did (i.e. work flawlessly). I had no idea that you had to let the game know to enforce the max speed. Anyways, thank you again, really above and beyond. Many thanks!
I would now officially mark this thread "answered" but I have no idea how to do that. Do the forum managers do that?
    Thanks again!

You're welcome. I think this is a thread of type "discussion". And that's why you can't mark it answered.
