I normally just delete all these emails I get lots from companies promising me the earth. You've just got to think if you will get a return on your investment (ROI).

    :) Great stuff.

The world is full of people who want to syphon off the product of other people's labor, and like to see it as them doing you a service, as you've probably seen we get a few on the forums.

    . . . . . . .

Hey guys, looking for someone to join our team on an exciting new project that's going to shake up the mobile app world, we are looking for someone to help finalise our fantastic new game, this is a BIG opportunity for the right person !!!

That sounds great, I'm just finishing a big project so the timing might be good, what's the pay ?

    Pay ?

    Yeah, what's the pay.

Sorry, not getting what you are saying here ?

You know, how much are you going to be paying the person you choose ?

Oh ! Sorry, yes I understand what you mean now, sorry I am being a little slow today, it's been a long day . . . . no there is no pay.

    No pay ?

    Yes, no pay.

    So people would be working for you . . . . for free . . . working on your projects for nothing . . . ?

Well, not nothing, you get the experience of working with a great team and we'll put your name in the credits.

Are you selling your products commercially ?

Sure, we're looking to make a big impact on the mobile games market this year.

Can I ask an frank and honest question ?

Is this 'exciting new project' a Flappy Bird template by any chance ?

Yes, how did you know ?

    Just a lucky guess.

Hi guys~ I work at ComboApp and I just wanted to take a second to tell you what we do: We are a mobile marketing and communications agency based in Chicago who specializes in promoting apps like yours.

We work with all sorts of clients - big and small - and, have a variety of products that can help you to promote your app and help you to monetize it successfully. Our services include social media, traditional marketing, traffic, user acquisition and public relations services. We realize that not all app developers are at a point where they can afford (or want) outside help with marketing their products, but if you do - please don't hesitate to shoot us an email and we'd be happy to help you figure out what the best products for you would be.

And - yes - we do charge for our services (we've got to pay the bills, too!), but our fees are scalable based on what type of campaign you need/results you want. We'd be happy to show you case studies that demonstrate our value as communications professionals and what we've been able to do for other clients.

    Take it easy!
