Gendai, Are you crazy?
For a pro nobody wants a splashscreen of GS and we want our own splash screen!

I just upgraded to pro, but I already regret it!
Get yourself together and try to think even with that small brain you have.

Why do you have to piss off your customers every time you make a move?

    Has anyone confirmed this? If its true, "pro" is a bit misleading. Think they should rename it to "hobbyist" edition.

    It's confirmed in another thread. I don't know, if it is true, but I assume, it is.

    You guys willnever be happy.

    First pro was to much money
    direct is crazy and forget it
    now no splash screen.

    Its like you guys will NEVER be happy.

    I for one am happy that pro is only 99 bucks for me to extend and only 500 to renew. As i am one that paid 2k for pro.

    If they would make a LOGICAL and ACCEPTABLE system, I would be happy.

    I already posted a solution in another thread.

    Three subscription models:

    1. FREE - like now.
    2. Express 99 - like current pro
    3. Pro 499 - like current pro without GS splash and WITH own splash.

    That would be something everybody could accept, I think. I would.

    TechnoDave, i do not work for GS. Im Tshirtbooth .... None of the sue chef accounts can post right now due to error so im using my kids express account.

    And ill say again if your are working on client apps im sure gamesalad has a plan for that. Just email them.

    Please explain why having iads and direct linking is worth 500 bucks a year?

    If those are the only things you get with pro, Gendai is not going to be in business for very long because nobody is going to use the Pro memberships.

    I certainly won't renew and will not use my current subscription for serious development. I'll use something else even it that means using Xcode itself even though I don't want to because development time is so much greater with raw coding.

    That was the cool thing about GS, you could put out a game pretty darn quick.

    @Azimpact: I would be happy to pay 499 for iAd and linking. But only without splash screen.

    With this plan they introduced, they just:

    1. Pissed all current pro members (no matter if new or ex)
    2. They just made think unnecessarily complicated for everybody

    I too would be happy to pay for those two things as long as I got to use my own splash screen. Those two things alone are not worth it to me if I have to show the GS splash screen.

    Also let me point out, i NEVER said i liked not being able to have my own splash screen. In fact i told them I DO NOT like this part.

    i think it's ok that they want to show off their own splash. and you can just pop in a picture of your custom splash into a scene and hold it for 2 secs. voila. well, kinda voila, at least...
    but i have to say, i'm very happy about this update...and it's been like, what, two hours? calm down, people..
    btw, i'm a new poster, but have been on here for a couple of months now, checking back daily..but yeah, i'll shut it. nighty-night time in this part of the world anyway.

    give the forum a rest and make a game.

    I heavily hated on GameSalad during the "GS Direct" phase, and then I left for a little while, periodically checking if the update had been released. Now that it has been released I can honestly say that it's greatly surpassed my expectations and I couldn't be happier. I'll upgrade to pro for $99(!) for the first year and then I'll use the FREE(!) account.

    Of course they will never please everyone, that is impossible, but this is a very good new system.

    Hunnenkoenig, that was almost a year ago when i was new. We are past all that and i think we should keep it that way.

    RevoltingPeasant, yes its not so bad. As the gamesalad one is there your game is loading behind it so there is NO delay when playing so you get a nice 2-3 second start time. Its real cool.

    I still wish we could ad our own intro video though :(

    LOL WhyAreYouHere ha ha now I know why I thought your worked for GS. Because you are Tshirtbooth. That's about as good as working for GameSalad. You are under NDA with them, developing content for their site, and I am sure you get special benn-e's!

    But it's not my intention to trash you or anyone else on the forum. I am just being honest about how a splash screen will kill us pro users. You of all people should know that!

    You are a great user and asset to the GS community Tshirtbooth. But don't let any special deals make you loose sight of what is best for the community and in the end best for Gamesalad.

    It is clearly miss guided of the team at Gamesalad to ignore pro users!

    Look at the names: Street Fighter 4. Shin Megami Tensei. Trauma Center. Supreme Commander. the Iron Man games. King of Fighters. The World Ends With You.

    Are you really trying to assert that you're better than Capcom, Square Enix, et al? A splash screen is *nothing*.
