Well, this is the ultimate test of their marketing muscle. It is incredibly difficult to resurrect a game that had a rough start. If the GameSalad team can turn things around, it would prove the strength of the Accelerator program. I'm glad that I commented on the matter. It seems that the GameSalad team is already getting busy.
Can anyone point me to what percentage Gendai take on games released on the Game Accelerator route, can't find any info anywhere, I'm getting my Mac after xmas real soon, and I need to know this basic stuff up front before I waste potentially any time learning / producing something that ultimately I am not happy with based on the % required ?
App Annie lists a price dropped from $1.99 to 99¢. Maybe the pseudo price drop trick was used... raise the price for a day, then lower it back down, triggering third-party website activity. There are websites that look for price drops in apps.
If the app wasn't 99¢ originally, that could be a large part of the marketing problem. With Electronic Arts being super competitive during the holiday season, a tier 2 app is probably too expensive.

@Pixomuse you can publish to your own Apple Developer Account using the free version of GameSalad if you want to.
It has been quite some time since we heard much on this front.
TSB, how have sales been with Mini-Cannon? I know I thought it was a pretty sweet game but were you able to get in front of all the hungry shoppers out there and make some sales?
What are your thoughts on the Game Accelerator program? Is it worth considering?
I know a lot of people have been following Mini-Cannon, and tracking its sales closely, with it being the first game launched through the Accelerator program.
On the surface, apart from the twitter (toy cannon) thing, there didnt look to be any noticable promotional effort from GameSalad... so I think its left a lot of users wondering what went wrong, and questioning the validity of the Accelerator program.
So, as Rattlehead said above, it would be interesting to see some sort of PostMortem, both from Tshirtbooth and from GameSalad regarding the Mini-Cannon launch.
So now what? Im currently deciding what to do. Do i pull the game rebrand it and upload again under my account? Or do i ride it out? Its a tough call and I hope to decide in the next few days.
I would definitely pull it and rebrand. Looking at the current ranks for mini cannon and HD it is hardly registering, so sales must be now very low. So not much to lose by doing it as it's not going to lift itself if it has dropped off the ranking lists all together. I think you're own brand is far more reputable than gamesalad's.
I notice the Stan Lee title has bombed really bad as well, what kind of % cut are they expecting for this service?
@liverpoolrule people want the app store to be free and unrestricted... look at the Android flee market and see how unrestricted looks like. Even with $99 you still get lots of junk, free will mean that you will have mostly junk and you will drive the real skill away.
There should be an annual fee and there should be a review. Quality brings paying customers.

They might want to fix the broken link though...
