tenrdrmer said: How does 5000 make him win just outta curiosity? that doesn't make sense to me sorry. I was under the impression each point was an entry mean as of now I have 4200 entries and head shot has 2200 entries not that a random number some how decides the winner. just curious looking for a better explanation of how you are choosing the winner.
I basically use a random number generator. (Heh, not GameSalad, something more random.) To pick the winner, I have to put the contestants in an order.
So...
If contestant A has 1000 points contestant B has 500 points and contestant C has 250 points
That's 1750 entries between three contestants. I put them in order of ranking to select the winner
1-1000 is contestant A 1001-1500 is contestant B 1501-1750 is contestant C
If the random number is something like 70, contestant A wins If the random number is something like 1270, contestant B wins If the random number is something like 1670, contestant C wins.
Does that make sense?

That is an excellent way of doing it I will now have a go !

Yes photics that makes better sense. Thats definitely a fair way to do it of course since i'm in the lead I would rather you do highest number. LOL but this is good Thanks for explaining.
I already have a copy of this book and just wanted to say that nothing helped speed up my development of games for the iphone than this. Really amazing work man.

Negative, the rules of the contest and the website clearly state I'm not responsible for such things. I'm surprised that your PS3 had a problem though. I've completed plenty of work units with the PS3 without incident. I'm thinking it might be something else. Are you in the North East area of the United States? Yesterday, there were some pretty high winds and it knocked out the power in my area. It was brief, just for a split second, but it was long enough to shut down my computer. I'm thinking something like that could mess up electrical equipment.
Wow, this certainly does make the contest more dramatic. It's like a car race and your car had a blowout.

Hey, that's a really nice complement.

No i'm central US I think the Power supply quit the machine is 4-5 years old. And hasn't been run for a year. Not to worry i've got another running. Imma still give headshot a run for his money.
Damn... I'm running 3 old laptops and PS3 at night. I need to come up with a plan to give you a good run. I might stop at BestBuy later today to secretly install on all their demo machines...

That's against the license agreement for the folding@home software. You can only install the software on machines that you have permission to do so.
I'm still seeing only two eligible contestants... and there's left than a week to go. It seemed like there were more people interested, but they had trouble getting started.
