They didn't steal the source code, Darren sold that as a template with blanked out graphics. Someone used that template and did this. No code was stolen, only images

Ohh gotcha...my bad. In that case Darren, I would consider watermarking your images so this can't happen.
You should have no issue getting a takedown notice sorted via Apple.
Not only are the graphics very very similar to your game, but the screen layout is also pretty much the same, and also the style of game, and gameplay mechanics.
There really doesn't seem much way they could argue any case that it's not a direct knock-off.
The images must of been stolen from the app as the template contained no images....but...they are a tiny tiny bit different so my point is if he took the time to slightly change the images why not take the time to re-skin it completely?
Not sure how much time it would of took vs time taken to tweak as I'm no artist but he would then be safe and not waste his time when it gets removed.

Well, that is an option. You could contact the developer and explain that to them. This could be an educational issue. Maybe the developer doesn't realize there's an issue.

I understand what you're saying, Photics, but personally I'm APPALLED that people don't have basic common sense and have lost any idea of morality.
DO NOT STEAL.
It's that simple. If people need 'educating' in this area, they really are a lost cause.
I've said it a few times, but the App store really does bring out the worst in people, and demonstrates incredibly well why the word 'entrepreneur' can be easily shortened to c**t.

This would be my course of immediate action. There should be no problem removing this from the App store due to copyright infringement.
On a general note: People making templates - PLEASE put watermarks on your graphics. People using templates - PLEASE put some f***ing effort into your games.
Well said QS! I agree on the watermark thing.... or just DON'T put any graphics at all in there, just boxes. I know graphics help sell templates, but it really does everyone a disservice when d-bags publish them as games.

Holy Crap. While not identical Copyright infringement can be creating your images and such to be so close its hard to tell them apart or they can be confused as one another. Apple would definitely pull this if you contact them.

Well, I'm just presenting the possibility. It's another option for Darren.

I think Tshirtbooth did something like that and the developer responded appropriately.

One of the nice things about this community is that we look out for each other. We're competitive, but most of us are professional.
Anyone knows why he took it down? Just wonder what worked.
Darren.
Note to developers: Don't BUMP Utopian Games or you will be RUNNING WILD after Darren is finished with you and turns you into a RED BALL OF GOO!
