My Icon design - Needs opinions

Hey guys.
My new game "The Loonimals Toy Box" is ready to submit to apple !
Im working on the icon now , this is what i came up with:

    When I look at the big version I love it, but the small version does not catch my eye. Maybe pick one animal to have as the focus and make it front and center with the other animals appearing to be down in the box. Most of the top apps with animal characters have only one animal in the icon, so I think you should pick one to focus on. Good start though.

    The character and background are both blue.

    hmm i think it will better if you change the BG ,make it a bit darker since your main character has a striking color.

    The ssue is that you're using background colors that are also in the box or animals try the last one with purple and lavender in the background as it's not in anything else

    If we ignore the background color for a secod and focus on the layout , which one is better? The 3 characters out of the box? Only 1 character out of the box? Drop the box? Drop the characters? Changin the color or add starburst is 3 minutes of work, the layout is my main issue..
    That said , I would like to hear your opinions .

    Not bad.. yeah make the BG Darker.

    I asked a similar question on what works best for your icon but never got an answer =(

    I love the animals, but for the small icon I would use the parrot :) It is much funnier and catches the eye better in colors etc. :)

    Hey i tried the parrot , although it is one of my favorite Loonimal , it does not fit right to the icon .

    Is this better?

    i made tiny little tweaks i think this is my final version:

    Is it a GO? or NO GO?

    I think you are getting close. When you shrink it down to the actual size the eyes get weird. I would not use the three white dots for the small icon version. I would go with one white dot in an upper corner of each eye.

    You may even want to lower the box down so that part of it drops below view and then make the creature a bit larger or sticking out of the box a bit more. This will allow you to have the face larger. I think that faces (especially eyes) draw a person in and make them look at your icon for a bit longer which improves your chance of someone clicking on it.

    It's looking much better though.
