The GameSalad publishing server is experiencing problems. Please try again later

edited November -1 in Working with GS (Mac)
For the past two days I get this message when uploading my app to create an iPhone AdHoc build. I have searched the forum and read every post on the issue and the suggest solutions with no luck. Logging in and then out, opening gamesalad with the project, uploading straight away. Saving the project as a new one and try that. Reset all routers, restart computer, change users on computer. The provisioning profiles are all correct and aren't out of date as I created them recently. The project file is 40mb according to the GS creator.

Any further advice?

I found this link http://gamesalad.com/forums/topic.php?id=14415 and I did indeed have 2 login passwords saved, will this fix the problem, uploading as I type...

I should also point out at this point that smaller projects do go through no problem so my certificates are all correct and in order.

    ...It didn't work :/

I am having the same issues. I just started publishing yesterday and the same error continues to pop up after every attempt. I have managed to get it to work 3 or 4 times but I have to re-publish 50 times before it actually uploads.

My game size is only 25 MB.

I have tried to create a new game every time but that doesn't work either. My guess is its an internal problem, but I could be wrong.

Figured the more people that post the problem the more attention it will get.

    Thanks,
    OVG

I've been trying to upload .Matrixx, and after speaking to the GS lot, they're currently trying to fix the issue of people's HUGE games not uploading.

Mine's not huge (stop giggling at the back there) but it still won't upload - so I'm waiting, hoping for a release next Friday if I can get it up in time (I said STOP GIGGLING!).

I'll let you know soon as I get the green light from them!

    been 30 minutes so far....

anyone else have this problem? how can we fix it?
  • KrogothicKrogothic Member, PRO Posts: 123
I cancel it and try again if it does not work rinse and repeat. I have uploaded 15 + in the last 2 days buy doing that.

Its a hassle, but at least it gets uploaded.

    Good luck

Ah, the joys of cloud computing. :-p

This is yet another reason why I think GameSalad should simply export to Xcode. We could make customizations and we wouldn't have to worry about the inconsistency of the publishing server. I'm thinking that I could build much larger games if I could build my games locally too.

Been trying to get it uploaded for 2 days now, :(

    I'm getting this error:

The file couldn't be opened because it isn't in the correct format.

The file might be corrupt, truncated, or in an unexpected format.

Am I getting this because of the same issue, or do I have a different issue?

My publishing is working, If I hit the publish button it takes extremely long so I press cancel and just hit publish again and it works.

    Hi there!

This seems to be a common issue for users, and we're looking into it.

    Sorry for the inconvenience!!

DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack on the publishing server maybe?

I've just spoken to someone at GS:

They've been working on this over the weekend. Still trying to get the issue resolved.

Apparently, they never actually touched the "Live" servers. They test within their development servers behind the scenes. The subsequent crashing on the live servers was apparently just coincidental.

Not great news, and I guess they're busy trying to fix the problem, hence no communication.

But I hope that helps in some small way.

    Cheers,

    QS

Thanks very much for the update, QS- I think most members here would be satisfied with any update at all. It's frustrating not to hear anything.

    seems like it's fixed?

i agree, if there's simply a status report thread that's on the top of menu... most member would be satisfied.. all we need to know is that someone is working on it instead of something unknown.. people don't like unknowns.

My gamesalad creator is crashing all the time, now i can't see the server error when i publish... only a super crash.

I don't know if i have to re-install the gamesalad creator or due to the gamesalad server...

Please tell us what's going on

    Hey, everybody!

Our devs have been working on trying to sort this issue out all day. Still trying to isolate the problem and correct it. We will not rest until this issue is fully resolved.

As soon as I get more info from the dev team, I'll share it here.

Thanks, everyone, for your patience and understanding.

Not sure if anyone else is seeing this.. but I started publishing, and it sat forever. So I cancelled, and tried again a few times with no results. I then cancelled, and noticed my network activity showed I was uploading at 600kb/s.. even though I wasn't doing anything and the publishing was cancelled. I then quit out of GameSalad and the uploading stopped. Not sure what it was uploading. I can't try and repeat it, because now I can't get past the first page of the publishing wizard without GS crashing.
