What Are The Three Rectangles?

I just opened Gamesalad for the first time and I'm confused as to why there are two black rectangles and then a larger grey rectangle all seemingly stacked on each other? Why is this? Is it the different screen sizes (iPhone, HTML, iPad)?

That is just the interface of gamesalad. They don't do anything. And yes, you can pick which platform you would like to make your games on.

I'd just like to add that the little white outline box inside the middle black box is the tracking area, where, when you use control camera, the actors start to nudge the camera around when they hit the outsides of it.

OK, now I need to know, what are the three seashells?

    Demolition Man!!!
I actually have wondered for years what they would actually do with those.
Scoop? I don't want to know most likely.

So, is the black box the available screen size? As in, what players will ultimately see? And why are these two boxes stuck in the bottom left corner of my screen?

Okay. I figured it out. GameSalad is just seriously glitchy. I changed my target platform to Mac and got a huge black screen (available screen space I now understand) and the white rectangles changed also. Changed it to iPhone Landscape and the black screen remained, but the white rectangles went back to normal sizes, but were stuck in the lower left corner of the black screen.

    Basically- not cool, GameSalad.

You can change the screen size in scene attributes.
