If you can justify the pro purchase (which plenty can) then no theres no problem selling that.

Gamemaker you cant publish to ios unless you publish threw yoyo games, Stencyl you cant publish to ios yet, and even when you can its not like gamesalad. You have to go into the store and download behaviors and stuff. Or code you own in actionscript if theres not the ones you want.

This is only gonna turn into arguments. The gs team can get enough info from this thread by now. Everyone wants better loading time and ram usage asap.

    Closed.

Heh, I'm glad someone opened this thread up I wanted to clarify some of your information here.

"You have to go into the store and download behaviors and stuff. Or code you own in actionscript if theres not the ones you want."

That's not accurate at all. Stencyl has a drag/drop behavior creation system much like GameSalad's. Is it exactly the same? No, but they're pretty similar. Both are visual editors where you don't ever have to write a line code at all. And you don't have to go to the "store" to get behavior, you're free to make your own.

The difference is, if you want to go ahead and modify the code it generates, you can do that, you can do that for the iOS version as well.

The point is there are competitors out there and it would be a mistake to take the type of attitude you have and write them off as nothing. GameSalad really needs to step it up now, or they're going to lose ground quickly. I really want to believe in GS but they're not making it any easier for us.

    EDIT

Also, this forum isn't here just to provide information to GS. This is a community after all and we should be able to discuss things like this here with out worrying if the thread is going to get shut down. Some of the recent moderation around here is troublesome IMO. Arguing =/= flaming. There is a distinction and threads shouldn't be shut down on the account of arguments. Just my 2 cents on the matter.

Definitely think these kind of posts should remain open. Yes, they become a bit heated but on more than one occasion they have resulted in some action and a change from the planned roadmap to accomodate something that really needs fixing or adding.

The clampdown on dissent had become a little gamesalad.cn recently.

Speed/load times should by #1 priority, IMO. In app purchases, and other stuff, is all great...but the thing that is always mentioned in GS game reviews is load times. If GS could fix that, it would be on a level playing field with Corona, IMO. (If you look at a lot of Corona converts, the popular answer seems to be...well, I needed speed.)

yoda did not close it and agrees it should stay open

    cheers

I know for the most part this has been settled. But I just want to say. If you are going to reopen a closed thread you need to Say why. The Conversation was not at all productive It was a pissing match of this and that. So If your going to undermine another moderator you really need to give a reason.

I think that the Petition term it's a little bit agressive... All the Gamesalad Team here are working hard to give us a really nice tool....

I like a little spice! Nothing wrong with disagreements or arguments as long as they remain civil, no name calling and the like. We can disagree, argue points and still be friends.

I don't know why we need two threads on the same subject, especially when it's been addressed.
