Integer vs Boolean

Can anyone tell me why so many people opt to use an integer like (+1)%2 instead of just using an on and off boolean?

No specific reason , you can use both ways ..
Personally i think the (+1)%2 is easier to create ..

Thanks Roy. Just wanted to be certain before I moved forward, didn't want to choose the one that would hit performance or something.

I usually use integers instead of booleans because I find them more stable. I had some rules with booleans that for no reasons stopped to properly work, then I switched to integers using %2 and never had any problems since.

also you dont have to do %2 you can do %4 or whatver you want and that will toggle threw more then just 2 numbers, while the boolean is just true and false

Boolean saves memory and it is also more clear then integer because you get the true and false option
