Paying for art.

Hi there,
I know i have been on the forums a lot specifically about resolution for images.
But i am wondering how much it costs to pay someone professionally to do game art?
I had just got a really good idea for a platformer a little while ago and want some art made!
I would also want some references on who to hire and if anyone is willing to.
Thanks,

The price of art can vary a bunch. The big thing most people don't consider, is that smaller pieces are cheaper to make, since they require less detail. That, and you can often save money if you use very simplistic animations, vs more intricate ones. For a platformer, I would imagine Basil would cost somewhere between 500-1000 euros.
If you're not ready for that kind of investment, you can always try doing it yourself, or getting stock art. Let me give you some resources (by the way, I and so many others here appreciate that your first venture into art wasn't "will you make this for free anyone?").

An awesome tutorial from Sprite Attack, if you want to learn how to make your own.

Good luck!
Also i really do appreciate the price range. I just wanted to know how much to save.
Also before i posted this i did take a look at your artists site because of your game Monstrous. I really do like the artwork!
