1) I would rather have an ad at the beginning of my game then a gamesalad splash screen. One ad at the beginning doesnt make your game look cheap, its not like every scene is filled with ads every minute.
2) Gamesalad lets me publish to iphone, ipad, and mac for free. Free users cant/wont get everything for free.
is it that hard to make it an option whether we want the referral screen or the gamesalad splash screen? Really, I would much rather have the Gamesalad splash screen because i dont like ads

Hi @joshuawilde I so agree, it'd be great if GS HQ could do that - free user choice between referral screen or GS splash - and you're right, it wouldn't be that hard to implement in the Publishing section, I'm sure. I'd update to the latest beta in a flash if that happened.
If I could ask a direct question for @SaladStraightShooter please: could that be considered or would it be out of the question?
@UnicornInvasion .... the Playhaven ad is optional in the GS PRO version. It is in the free version of GS but you can use your own splash screen instead of the Gamesalad one. You do however still have the option of publishing with an older version of the GS free creator which will have the GS splash and no Playhaven ad.
This is absolute ridiculous,GS creates annoying ads at the start of a game, and to get rid them I'll have to buy pro, shouldn't buying pro be about getting extra features not removing annoying ads, seriously your strategy is way of course, who are you in more support of,your paying customers,or free members.bringing extra features for paying members shouldn't be put to one side,so you can benefit from free users.just when you thought that GS couldn't get any lower.
I'm confused, are people just ignorant of the additional pro features, or willfully spreading rumors that it costs $500 to just remove play haven?
Pro features include (all for the same $500): Removal of Playhaven (if you want) Revenue of Playhaven (if you use) Use of Kiip to earn extra money iAds In App Purchase Android Publishing External Links GameCenter Leaderboards
I'm shocked at the amount of whining going on about this. A year ago $500 got you a custom splash screen & external URLs. That's it. 3 years ago that cost you $2000, and it was $500 just to use game salad. Just because you don't plan on using some of the above features does not reduce their value. and frankly, anyone who is not looking at android publishing as a way to increase their revenue is missing out. The Kindle Fire is already the most popular android device out there.
Don't hold your breath on a price change, there is no real reason for them to consider it right now. At this very moment, there is not a single competing product that matches GameSalad's level of ease / price point.

Hi Jon, I beg to differ on a point or two: people are saying it'll cost $500 just to remove Playhaven if they can afford to upgrade to pro but earlier than they would have done otherwise, i.e and so upgrade just for the one reason, if you sees my point. (In other words, they might have waited longer before upgrading to the pro features but felt they must buy it earlier if they dislike PH that much).
Pro features are well worth getting and pro is certainly worth the money when you need the pro features, I agree, and in a way, with respect, it doesn't matter what it used to cost.
I didn't know anyone was waiting for a price change; I agree that that's not going to happen, surely, (but who am I to know) and why should it...
But I'm holding my breath for the return of the $99 per year for the basic version without PH; and possibly without the GS splash screen (although personally I wouldn't mind that). (I'm expecting a yearly price again anyway for when GSC is out of beta and will be surprised if that doesn't happen.)
As another member said in a similar thread, you can't please all of the people all of the time...
What about folks who *don't* want the features below, but don't want the PH ad? just sayin'. There should be a 3rd option.

Hi @deadlights , if you've got all those features active then you have the pro version of GSC; and so if you don't want PH, you can switch it off; so no 3rd option needed as such....
All this banter/conversation/friendly disagreement/agreement is all about free users being able to turn off PH, with the fairness of then having the GS splash instead, a choice...
PS If you meant the first "don't" as well as the 2nd, then the same comment applies; that'll be free users wanting a choice between enforced PH ads or the GS splash... sorry, not trying to be clever, just telling you how it is...

@QS yea I'm not big on the advertising side of things I'm looking at iAP to release the sequel to Obliteration as a free game with 5-10 levels, then use iAP to unlock the other 90. Android publishing, I went ahead with it, sound delays and all, and i have not gotten a single bad review. I think they are so happy to have some good games they overlook the sound issue I know you like game center , achievements have become the new pause
of course, in order to use iAP and publish and android in the future, I'll have to renew my membership which I've let lapse at the moment.
I agree with you on the advertising. I use URL to point people to my twitter feed / website for more information, or to launch an email for support Android is a great way to extend your market, I am building my next game specifically for the nook/fire

I'm pro at the moment, and I don't currently use Android publishing (as sound delays and sticky buttons make me not want to publish yet).
I also have absolutely no desire to use PH, Kiip, iAds or IAP
But you know, I'm odd like that
