I've had no problem here using GS as long as you pick jobs that allow you to upload the final product to iTC. I had to renounce to some interesting jobs because the employer wanted the xcode project. Also make sure to check all the requisites because the majority of the works here requires the app to connect to a database or to be Universal and we don't have it yet in GS.
Remember also to build a professional portfolio because you will have to bid against oriental guys (mainly from India and Pakistan) that will do the job for a fraction of what you feel is the correct price for the job.
