I think i found an idea!
http://www.snipergames.net/games/urbansniper.html
So all i think i need to do is draw a sniperscope, add a translucent actor constraining its position in the centre of the scope and if it collides with target and button is pressed Mission complete.
(I know its a lot harder than that, but along the lines).

Its totally doable...probably take me 4-6 weeks to build...And I could definitely improve on the graphics (I HATE STICKMAN GAMES...SOOOOO LAME!!!!!).
- Nothing complex.

Ill start tomorrow. Night
50% up front.
75% balance at 50% completion
100% at delivery for removal of watermarks.
+25% royalties
If you want professional work...that is what the going US rate is.
samples at: www.furiousapps.com
You might be able to get it done for half that out of S. America or Asia with no royalty dues.
I think ill stick with PhotoShop shapes for nao.
xD
I was just dishing you a taste of reality within the professional world.
But if you can find a buddy to work with you pro bono...that's cool too!!!
I cant believe people pay that price for pictures. I guess thats where the money is these days.
How much do you want to make an hour?
I have about 250+ hours in graphics for Bumper Derby X-Treme so far and I'm only half finished with it.
500 hours * $50/hr = $25K (I usually charge $100/hr...I was quoting you half price :-)
But what T-shirt says is true $100/hr is a LOT
And 250 hours is over 10 days of working non stop!
Plus interface, plus splash graphics, plus fonts, plus meters, plus controls, plus course splashes, plus collision animations, bonus animations, HUD....and more.
Yeah...there is easily 500+ hours of graphics work in a pro-grade game.
I charge $100/hr (i used to get $150/hr before the recessioN)...most don't charge that. I don't take less mostly because I don't want to work for other people anymore unless its profitable (99% of clients are famous for wasting your time). If you can't get at least $70/hour...you can't stay in business. I've learned over the years that if they can't afford (or aren't prepared to pay) $100/hr...they aren't serious clients.
Generally...you get what you pay for.
anyway, i contacted someone from findafreelancer.
Only time will tell if the new game will be a hit or a flop. Hopefully it will at least pay for the 2 month solid effort that went into it.
@iDev.
Hey...it is a lot.
That's why I do my own graphics and not hire out. We are hiring an artist for the splash screen art...but we are doing the game art ourselves. The single 320x480 splash art graphic is costing us $300...and that is Thailand prices where a cheeseburger costs a nickel.
Wait are you a company?
I have been self-employed for 10 years now.
My digital publishing company is 9 years old.
We just entered mobile app development a year ago.
Our other apps (utility apps) are 9 months in development now.
We hope to release our first 3 apps this month...Bumper Derby being the 3rd.
BD is our first game we have done...so its been challenging...but GS has completely changed our business plan...since the development time has been cut by over half and our Xcode partners are not necessary to incorporate into game projects. GS has been a "game-changer" for us.
Most of our bread and butter work however is in publishing training manuals for the Navy for state of the art aircraft software. Our iPhone apps are our "golden egg hunt" speculative ventures.
iDev...Don't fret.
The fact that you are working on game design at 15 is AWESOME. GS will allow you to develop excellent logic and deduction skills. When I was 15 I was playing Super Mario Bros. and a computer was something only banks used.
Stay with it...GS is truly a very special and unique software and there is nothing else like it right now. Learn...practice...be creative...and most of all...HAVE FUN!!!
If the stars are aligned...maybe someday you CAN make a living at it...but its challenging to say the least.
Good Luck to you....and don't spend your hard earned money on this. Just make fun games that you and your friends would like to play. BE CREATIVE with your graphics...like flying toasters and stuff.
I was recently told though that to make a living from iPhone games you have to be the best of the best.
have you seen More Cupcake on the app store?
That is not "Best of the Best" and that guy is a millionaire now.
To succeed...you just have to have a really AWESOME idea at the right time.
An easter game!!!
Ok guys that is what i am going to do!!
Now you got the idea.
BTW...
If you want CHEAP pro graphics
try...www.istock.com
$1 each.

The problem is the 320x480 limits I will find some good pictures on there though.
Stick to the cheap jpegs...they are only $1.
@Anyone who has earth attack
What do you think as this for a game over scene?
