I didn't mean you. There are still people, who use their brains.
If you buy something without looking at the price, is your problem. That means, you like to be belittled, because you think Apple will do the work for you and they will watch the price FOR YOU.
That is being stupid and wanting to be belittled. They should do all the work for you, and if they don't you get mad, because why the hell they didn't watch out for you.
If you drive a car and they change the rules around your corner and suddenly the street gets one way in the other direction and you drive in, because you did it in the last 20 years, you will still pay the bill for the penalty.
In german there is a phrase: not knowing the rules doesn't make you innocent.
If you don't look at the price, your fault. If you go to the supermarket, you look at the prices even by Coca Cola, even if you buy it since 20 years, because they may have changed the price.
I know, I look for the price for sure.
And you can't also accuse the comma for it, because you buy in your own country on the app store with your own prices and you should know, how to set a comma in your own country.
And like in hungary, they have to buy in euro instead of hungarian forint, they watch 2x because they have to calculate, how much is it in their currency.
I don't know if you are american, but if yes, then let me say: this is your biggest problem. You are soooo used to be belittled, that you go crazy if you have to think.
I have a little story for that:
I had a girlfriend from canada and she visited me in austria. We were driving around in the city the whole day and in the evening she asked, what those signs mean, which she sees everywhere.
I asked what signs?
She showed me a traffic sign, which is a "parking prohibited" sign. Its a circle with an X in it.
I asked her, how long she has a driving licence. 25 years she answered. And you don't know what that means? I asked.
No, she said.
I told her, it means "parking prohibited" and it is in the whole world the same.
She said, no, she doesn't know that.
I asked, how do you know in Canada, where you are not allowed to park?
She said: "it is written on the street or on a signboard "NO PARKING"
Then I realized, how stupid I am, because I have seen it, when I was there and I laughed.
BUT, the point is: We have a sign for that which doesn't need language, but we have to know, what it means.
In america you have to have everything written in english, so people can understand.
Take the example of peas in the grocery isle. You don't expect them to be $100. Now say you looked at a single can of peas at one moment, walked to a different isle, came back a minute later and grabbed the peas. Nobody slapped a big bright sticker saying "Price Increase!".
Buyer be ware is a truism, but it doesn't hold up in court when there is bait and switch and fraud involved. In America, our version of your German phrase is "ignorance of the law is no excuse." That doesn't apply here.
I actually think Apple should take some blame for this kind of thing. I can't believe they don't have some sort of automatic breaks to put a hold on such dramatic price changes.
Why they even allow to CHOOSE such a price, when you have to choose from a dropdown menu for price tiers.
Did you ever published something to the appstore?
If apple is so concerned, they should take out the TIER 1001 from the dropdown menu and allow only the TIER 1-5
Then I am not even able to set my price to 300 dollars.
Until I am able to, maybe I will, because it's my given right.
---
There are many sites, like appshopper, which shows you price changes exactly.
If you already bought Doodle Jump, it is not your concern if they change it to 300
If you didn't buy it yet, then you still have to watch the price.
Believe me, you are not right and it makes no sense, that you jump around with your arguments.
I understand what you want to say, but you are still not right.
If doodle jump costs a 1000 dollar suddenly, you are still an idiot if you buy it and every court will give doodle jump right and you can't do nothing.
@design219 I know that it isnt morally right to do this now, but before i wasn't really meaning for anyone to buy the application at 109.99$!! I havnt meant to do anything wrong!! well, to tell u the truth i dont think i have ( i am actually thinking the same way as Hunnenkoenig here! :P). Of course if the people who bought the app were just stupid and didnt bother to look at the price i dont actually care. I would care if the people who bought it were children or... well... i dont know.... were played a joke on? anyways ill wait and see if these dumb/unfortunate ones actually contact me/apple.
Oh and by the way: you don't expect a bottle of coca cola being priced for 200 euros, but if you go to monaco when Formel 1 is on the street, you HAVE to pay that price.
Maybe I am just a grumpy old man, but I think 80% of mankind should be shot into the sun. :-)
In one angry moment I even played with the scenario, shooting them to the moon in a space suit, give them air to breath for 10 hours but the suit should fill up with !@#$% and piss within 8 hours. :-)
So, if you still believe in mankind, nice. I don't.
James I was born in Hungary but I live in Austria :-)
We have the same "rednecks" in hungary too...sad, but true. They just don't cover themselves with the US flag, but the hungarian flag from the time of kings and they run around in traditional costumes :-)
Yeah, they probably think I spelled "color" wrong too!
I was watching a comedian on HBO the other night that did a bit about how stupid americans are. One of her examples was that our Doctors have to translate metric units into fruit. When a doctor says a tumor is 9cm we have no clue what that means so they have to say its the size of a grapefruit. Funny because it's true!
But, damn it, knowing that a mile is 1760 yards (i think) is what makes us smarter!
Now I'm going to go eat some fries, complain about how a budget reducing health bill is too expensive, and watch some fox news. God bless you, BillO!
Sorry just come back from the pub and read some of this thread, but i see very little problem. If i set a price at 59p and people make the choice and purchase thats seems ok. However if i set my price at over £100 its morally wrong, why?
The description of the app is the same and the reviews are valid, The question is just based on the perception of value which, is stated at purchase time.
Sorry I know........... like i said just been to the pub.

With respect, I disagree.

*edit, never mind, I didn't remember you had the title in the first post.
This is it?

"you" doesn't always mean YOU personally. I hope, you can differentiate, when I mean YOU as a person and "you" in general as "everybody / anybody"
Cheers
:-)
I still don't agree with that... and I'm not talking about me specifically. I didn't think you meant me.
ill put it back on tonight.

I don't.
Mine next will involve rainbows and unicorns.
;-))
My first game involves UFOs destroying earth (still have to make the levels) and the second one is a horror game :-)
Or maybe you think these colors run!
USA, USA, USA!
baguette
lasagna
gyro
egg roll
Americans speak more than english.
Oh, and how is reading a sign belittling me? I thought reading was progress over cave painting symbols.
Oh, and yeah, I'm a fat ass!
Do we ever?
You forget the rest of the world doesnt get the colors dont run joke....
They dont have rednecks in jacked up trucks with confederate flags in Hungary or wherever Hunn is from
We have the same "rednecks" in hungary too...sad, but true. They just don't cover themselves with the US flag, but the hungarian flag from the time of kings and they run around in traditional costumes :-)
@scitunes: I don't take you serious, promise :-)
But, reading over cave signs... yeah... and reading things like "buy this chair... woman not included" and similar is also progress for sure :-P
Do they like george bush too?

Please teach them not to be idiots, because I hate idiots and I have not enough space suits :-P
