My contract with the iPhone 4 will expire on January, then I will start a new one with the iPhone 5. But the wait is already killing me :)

yeah I just check and I can upgrade... I am worried though about the data plan. I have been grandfathered in on the unlimited data for the past 3 years now... I wonder if they will take they away....

Yeah same, I wonder how we find that out. I'll call later tonight and see if the Verizon people know.

it looks like, at least with at&t, we can keep it:

I just bought the galaxy s3 and i love it. i was quite jealous about iphone 5 rumours but turned out it is inferior to s3. compared to iphone 4s, -- stretch screen. faster processor. slightly better battery. camera features that was present in other phones for ages. slimmer screen.
My s3 is better in most ways maybe except camera. and slimness

@jonmulcahy - Just found out that once we upgrade to the iPhone 5, we no longer have unlimited data :(

@Gsrockz123 - Although I see some people saying the same thing as you, I also hear people saying the opposite. I think it's a great update and one that will definitely have people upgrading :)

    Cheers!

@gsrockz123 I agree with the hardware in SGS 3, but I don't like Android. I have two Android devices (phone and a 7-inch tablet) and I find Android harder to use. That's why I am sticking with iOS. I'm probably gonna upgrade my 3GS to iPhone 5.

I'll be buying it for sure, but I'm worried about this AT&T news with that dropping unlimited plans. This might be an expensive upcoming year :( . I look forward to the new design of the phone, I like changes after having the same design for a few years. Also love that the screen is taller. Even though it will be a pain for Gs to update, I look forward to having the extra space for all the games I'm working on, I could actually really use it. Lastly, those Earpods look sweet, what better way to get those than to try them on a brand new iphone? :P

My only issue with the new design is that I think the headphone jack is moved to the bottom of the phone now. Am i the only one that is going to hate that?

Just sold my iPhone 4 couple of weeks back (knowing the iPhone 5 announcement was imminent), but after reading the rumours, I opted for a S3. I don't think there was anything in the iPhone 5 that changed 'drastically' that made me go Whaaaaaaaoh 'Amazing!. So I'll be happy with my S3 for 1 year at least.

Got an iPod touch and an iPad 2 to keep my iOS fix for now :)

Even though I have a 4S, I will still buy the 5 just so I can test my apps on it -- especially because of the new resolution.

I'ts a tradition for me - I'm first at the apple store in ireland every year and I quite like the iPhone 5

I currently have the ipone 4, skipped on the 4S but I'll be the first to pre-order the iPhone 5 for sure (tomorrow!!). That A6 chip wow!!! True sRGB color space, the touch is built into the screen rather than a layer on top making the image even more vibrant. This is the best smartphone hands down, there has never been an "iPhone Killer" yet and believe me I've heard so many claims from sales people trying to pull you away from apple products :)

I couldn't agree more, I can't wait for this phone... I'll be up at 3 AM tomorrow too ordering this baby, hopefully it'll go a lot smoother than when the Verizon iPhone pre launch... Apple was delayed for 45 minutes and then the site nearly crashed from all the traffic! Never the less, Im still pumped to get my order in :)

    Cheers!

Personally I don't understand all the hype,, to me it is not exactly ground breaking at this stage.. I think the Galaxy S3 is just a sweet phone and has been out for ages.. I won't be getting one..

It's impressive that you can now fit another row of apps on iPhone 5. But I think I'll wait to upgrade somewhere between iPhone 15-20. Should fit all my apps on one page by then. And should have a lot more uses than the iPhone 5...

    @Chobbiface - LOL!

But this actually got me thinking about how much longer the iPhone will go on for.. Do you guys think theres going to be an iPhone 20 some day? How long can Apple stay afloat without Jobs in command? I think that'll be the real test, once there through making all his other ideas, it'll be interesting to see what they come up with...

    Cheers

I have a S2 currently, and I'm quite disappointed to it except it's outlook.
Maybe I'll get myself a iPhone5, but i still have to try on hands before deciding..

my dad has an iphone 4s and thank goodness apple finally announced features android had years ago. he will prob buy it. but i find android easier to use. widgets and tons of other features make android unique. Similarly, due to lack of features, ios is easier to use. of course you get WAYYYY more support from apple than android. still waiting for jellybean update for my s3

Nope. Ive actually decided to buy a 4s now that the price has come down! The 5 just doesnt seem to be that much of an upgrade to me. I can wait for 5s or 6
