What software do you use to create your game websites?

I would like to know what software or creators you use for your website. I have limited coding knowledge so i am looking at either Wordpress, Weebly or webs. What software do you guys use.

I use Wordpress for my personal site. I used to use Dreamweaver for years when I made websites for clients, but I don't make websites anymore, and after 13 years of that, I absolutely hate making websites, which is why I use Wordpress now.

Joomla is a great option as well. A lot harder to use than Wordpress, but you would have more control over everything.

I never used Weebly or Webs. To me they just seem like Apple's iWeb knockoffs, or something akin to a toy, but hey, what do I know.

I'm an expert in Joomla and run that with the K2 extension. Really don't need coding knowledge unless your trying to customize a template. Otherwise it's just a matter of Setting up your content and modules you want to use (but it can be overwhelming for first timers). Just upgraded a 1.5 to Joomla 2.5 on my current site.

Webs for me. I really like their online drag and drop editor and they give you HUNDREDS of features and upgrades for about $10/month.

iWeb if you have a mac. I've hard coded PHP sites with CSS front-ends for a long time, have used just about every WYSIWYG editor out there, and everything in between, and iWeb does the job right every time with minimal knowledge of, well, just about anything. I usually pop in a wordpress development blog as well.

Webs.com is great if you don't know how to code HTML and CSS, And I coded my current game website www.siwelgames.com using Sublime Text 2 http://www.sublimetext.com/2

I do it the old fashioned way.
HTML & CSS...
Lately Ive been using a alot of ajax and jquery to pretty stuff up.
But I dont think it gets much simpler than Wordpress, and if you dont know what you are doing, the limits that wordpress does have will not matter to you.

You likely do not want a Wordpress.org or a Wordpress.com site.
You want a LAMP server, (Something like GoDaddy hosting) that you can install wordpress on.
Many host providers offer one click installs of all your basics like wordpress & joomla etc.
Wordpress is a Content Management System that is independent of Wordpress.com
(well, technically the .com will host a blog for you that uses wordpress... the .org is the group who created and maintains the CMS. If you are not using methods provided to you by a host, then you download the .zip from wordpress.org and use an ftp to transfer the files to your server.)

For my wordpress site I run wordpress on a site hosted by fatcow.com, never had any problems. Wordpress has worked great fornthe 2+ years I've been using it.

I also get that you used wordpress but how does the process go? Sorry for being confusing, I know xcode and a ton about apps but nothing about websites.

I used godaddy's website builder but it was really confusing at times but once I got used to it worked ok, but I don't recommend it. I was thinking about trying wordpress myself seems very popular.

I use WordPress at Photics.com. I tried switching it to Drupal recently, but that was just overkill for my website. I still think about going back to Drupal, because it's so customizable. The idea of an online arcade with high scores is still stuck in my head.

Drupal Views are for Web Development, like GameSalad is for Game Development.

On my website there's an article... Helpful List For GameSalad Developers ...which includes a section for creating a website. I've been using HostRocket for years. It's really simple to setup WordPress, as most hosts with cPanel have one-click installs for WordPress.

The real trick is keeping it going. One month I had hundreds of thousands of visitors at my site. Now, it's down to several thousand visitors a month. Maybe one day I'll get back up into the big numbers... and beyond my old records.

I've worked with MAMP (Mac), WIMP (Windows/IIS) and LAMP (Linux) boxes. If you want to test things out locally on your machine, there's Bitnami... http://bitnami.com/ and http://bitnami.com/stack/wordpress ...but I prefer to use the OS X server app for web development.

There are a lot of awesome tools and libraries that you can use today, even with limited programming knowledge

Most times we decide to go heavily with Django, Bootstrap, and CouchCMS. Sometimes, we make do with Wordpress. We have some pretty talented web programmers in our team, but for smaller projects we're confident enough to leave it up to the shall we say, "newbies" of the team. And they have produced some pretty awesome sites with just average HTML and CSS know-how!

What I'm saying is website builders like Breezi are good and serve their purpose, but it can get limiting at times -- and with today's easier-to-learn and implement libraries and tools, I'd say going the extra few more miles might be worth it

Check out Serif Webplus x6. Serif software exceeded my expectations in virtually every category from photoediting, layout and design and movie editing (all strong, affordable alternatives to Adobe suites) so I figured I would give their web creation program (Webplus x4 then) a try. As a former newspaper editor, Photoshop and In-Design user, with no coding skills, I love that Serif allows you to design a site using nothing more than a simple drag and drop system. Check out the trial software, and if you decide to purchase, ask them about the 18 month free web hosting. It's ordinarily around $12 a month, but the should hook you up with purchase. And check out all the free serif templates and image sliders available from third party sites. Great stuff, never any programming. My new site, using Webplus x6, should be up by the end of the month.
