I am still waiting to release my Android game because of the false antivirus issue. When will the update be available??

So, there is just NO idea? A week? A month? A year? Nothing?

Of course I have read it a bazillion times. Have you read it as well? Do you see some date in the roadmap for the release that for some reason I do not see?

If you read the State of GameSalad posts, you'll be kept up to date on this in the kitchen. For example, take a look at the first post in this thread: http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/63373/state-of-gamesalad-on-1-15-2014#latest

Yeah, I always read that as well, but still does not answer my question at all. It makes it impossible to plan for a game release date if there is no date given from gamesalad for the fix for the above issue. I was just hoping to be able to have any kind of answer for people asking when my game release is. Right now I have to say "Well, the game has been done for almost a month but I can't release it until gamesalad releases the next version, and apparently that should be sometime between now and when my pro membership expires in December."

I use the windows version and it normally follows a week or two after mac release. Or you could be smarter about it and when you release the game show it actually working on a phone and put some notes in the description to explain what might happen and that a fix is in the works.

From experience this happens mostly on Sony phones(had 2 people at work tell me about this virus warning) but others on HTCs and Samsungs didnt have any errors at all

@jigglybean I suppose if you are intent on releasing the game no matter what and you don't care if people rate it poorly and ruin your name in the process, you could do as you suggested and just put in a blurb about how it is not really a virus, but why take that chance? As I see it there is ONE shot at having your app be a success once it is in an app store and all it takes is a few people complaining about the virus, regardless of how much you try to "convince" them otherwise, to prevent more people from ever downloading the app.

Regarding devices that are throwing the false positive warning, I have found that it has to do with which (if any) antivirus software is installed on the phone. On a Samsung S2 and an S3, both with AVG Antivirus, they both flagged it as a Virus. Also got the virus notification on an HP Touchpad and another 7" Tablet (can't remember which brand). So, it appears that it does not have anything to do with the brand of the device.
