GameSalad Slow

Hi.
Is anyone else having this problem.
Upgraded mac to Yosemite, Big mistake.
Now GameSalad runs so slow when switching between screens, and even when saving.
Crashes more often, in fact every 20 mins or so.
Anyone have any suggestions? what can i do to stop this.
HELP!!!!!

Is everyone who upgraded to Yosemite experiencing a big slow down with GameSalad or is it only happening to a few of us? It seems to be getting worse - I can work just a few minutes before it slows. I don't have any issues with crashes however.

Constantly crashing for me as well. The GS v12 and Yosemite was a big step backwards.

I'm old - memory is still good, only it's short. It takes so long for GS to go from scene to actor attributes that I forget what I was going to change. It's killing me!

Yeah its a lot slower on Yosemite. Lots of hanging, freezes etc. I might actually roll back, because I can't see a single benefit of using Yosemite.

I re-installed GS and for the past 15 minutes it seems to be doing much better - not blazing fast, but a lot better than before.

Never mind - spoke too soon. Still slow.

The main programmers of gamesalad must fix this because people who wants to learn gamesalad perhaps will choose other system to make their games

Unless everyone repeatedly submits endless bug reports for it. Nothing will be done. Its the reason why I havent upgraded to Yosa. If I had done, I would be submiting a NEW bug report every day until they fixed it. They dont look at these forums so all these comments go unnoticed.

Using the latest Release Candidate it is much better!

There has been nothing but trouble since I became a PRO member. Can not work more than five minutes with out it closing or freezing, on my new Mac Air when GameSalad is the only added program Installed. Too many builds get released.
I didn't buy PRO to fix thier bugs for them, or to point them out. I don't have time for that. Will not be supporting Gamesald. Disappointed.

Lazyness gets the best out of all of us, including GS staff. Not trying to bash GS staff, just speaking the truth. I think a good percentage of devs, including myself can agree that we get on the lazy train from time to time.

I don't know about being lazy... but this has always been GameSalads Achilles heel... super slow to fix bugs and implement new features, yet overhyping upcoming developments.

I often wonder if it's a case of the original software being coded in a funky way by a genius coder that left the company early on... and following coders have struggled to understand how his code worked.

I had high hopes when Codewizard joined the company, but so far, I hate to say, it seems to just be more of the same old GameSalad issues with lots of promises that have yet to materialise, and lots of "getting close now" announcements.

I always sound negative, when this issue is discussed... Which is a shame, as I really genuinely like the software, and what it gives us the ability to do. It's just such a shame that the slow, buggy development that often leaves the software in a semi-unusable state for long periods, fights against all the positives that GameSalad brings to the table.

I think it's the main issue that holds back more people from going Pro, and that stops the software from being accepted as a serious engine and toolset on a wider basis within the videogames industry....

I would prefer fixing what they have before adding anything new. Fix the base software...stop calling it beta. How about GS going Pro? We are basically paying to test their software they wont call a full version.

I have the same problem, when ever I switch between actors, it lags out and freezes for 5 seconds, then it goes back to normal. :(

Yosemite has been soooooooo bad. Apple was convinced it was video card or bad memory problems... so they gave me a new mac book! Can't complain about that but I am still having the same issues... :(

But even reverting back to mavericks did not fix my problem. Even a clean install of mavericks did not fix my problem. I wonder if they released some sort of driver updated for the Nvidia card that acts strange...

I get very weird screen tears and invisible stuff that happens.

This issue needs to be fixed for such a small program the memory and cpu usage is awefull, brought a brand new macbook pro i7 16gb ram 2015 model and game salad still runs terribly.

meanwhile Unity 3d a program far more complex runs fine even on one of my i5 macs with 8gb ram.

if these issues are not fixed i can see this being the end for game salad no one wants to use a program they need to restart every 15min

    (site currently under construction)
