What to do if you have an original idea?

Hi, I'm working on a game, which I think is an original concept and not seen before. I came to a crossroads, that I mentioned in this post:
http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/76024/i-reached-a-crossroads-any-recommendations

Now moving on, I want to see how to handle this issue of originality. I understand it is always good to share and show the game in which we are working ... the reviews and comments of others, always helping us improve our game.
However, if you think you have an original concept, it also becomes important to care for this idea, that this remains unique and original at least until the time of publishing.
You have to wait to finish to show? Or this is paranoia of a newbie? : P
What do you recommend doing here?

If you have a truly original concept that you think might really be a success, I'd be very sparing with what you show until you are nearing release. Once you're getting close, then start giving hints in promotional materials, but only display the whole uniqueness of the game once it's actually available.

There are very few truly original ideas these days though :D

    @Armelline I just had a great idea! FlappyTrust™ :o

I think the sense is that what you post on the forums should have identifying details removed. So if you're making a car racing game, you might ask about "how to move an actor left and right using touch." The down side of that is that when you leave out certain details it sometimes makes it harder for people here to help.

Work on it, and don't tell anyone any details. The forum will be here when you're done. If you need assistance on something you got stuck on, use an example, don't say you can't figure out how your actor "Luke Skywalker" doesn't turn on the lightsaber, or post any pics.

Looking forward to your success! Regards.

@Armelline‌ thanks for the advice, I think I have something original ... but that just will know when the game is released, I guess ...

@Socks‌ hehehe ... ok, I'll send it the project, prepare for GS on mac or pc? : P

@tatiang‌ @mhedges‌ I understand, but that is if you need any help to solve something ... for now is not the case, but not because I do not require anyone's help, but because at the beginning I saw many video tutorials that helped me get started . And the doubts I had, I could clear the reading in this forum or researching and doing my own tests.

Actually the question is more about when we should share the concept of the game, I see there advantages and disadvantages:

    cons:

    • The most obvious is the risk that others may copy our idea and publish before ... maybe having more and better resources

    pros:

    • To share the idea, you can receive feedback from others, in time, as we may be missing something it more obvious to others
    • To show the concept, we increased the expectation about the game, this can help the subsequent dissemination and sale
    • protect you idea?
I recently read there someone who develops indie games with some success, which recommended always show early the original concepts ... the reason for it, when he had an original concept that took a long time to perform, shortly before publication, appeared another with a similar and no one would believe that his idea was not a copy... if he had share before, everyone would know that this was his concept and it would be "protected"
