I’ve recently posted an Indiegogo Campaign for my soon to be published book. The text for the book is already complete, at this point it just needs proofread, edited, etc. Check it out if you have any interest in learning to create your own video games.
If you’re not interested in the subject, please consider sharing the link with your family, friends, social networks or anyone you think might be interested.

Best of luck with the campaign!
There is a great need for a well done GS book. I hope yours is the one!
@jamie_c good luck with this I'll share on my fb wall. One tip for you though...SMILE!!! You're in show biz now with that video so we need to see some pearly whites

@Braydon_SFX, Thanks for the share!
@floatingwoo, Thanks!
@timolapre1998, Thanks!
@Hopscotch, Thanks for the vote of confidence!
@LumpApps, Thanks. Of the four games that are created throughout the book, NONE are Flappy Bird clones! LOL
@Lovejoy, Thanks. I've never done any kind of crowd-funding before so I thought this would be a good chance to 'get with the times' and see how it all works. It's a pretty interesting experience so far.
@RThurman, Thank You. I agree about the need for a good book, that is was spurred me to do this. When I was learning GS I purchased 2 of the 4 available books and while they helped, they were not the books I would have liked to have seen.
@dreichelt, Thank you and thanks for sharing on Facebook! I was a bit self conscious about making the video, but it's pretty much a requirement it seems for crowd-funding.
@Socks, Thanks!
@neoman, Thank You!
Thanks SO much everyone for the kind words and shares, it really is appreciated!

Looks great! I know you'll be hiring a professional proof-reader, but I'd happily help in that area.
May just have to back this next pay day, I still find new things to learn and I'm sure there's be some in your book!

@jamie_c I would have loved to help you create your video as I am pretty knowledgeable about lighting, sound, etc. Your video is fine I'm just giving you a slightly hard time! Good luck!
@jamie_c just posted on my wall links to your indiegogo, website , and udemy. Are you on fb by the way? I can then also tag you.
@Armelline, Thanks. I may end up needing some extra proofing help, if I do I'll certainly let you know. Thanks for the offer.
@dreichelt, the focus is bad on my video but I wanted to keep the project moving so I used it anyway!
Thanks for the posting! I am on facebook.

"been involved in computer programming, of one kind or another, since the age of 16 when I got my first Commodore 64 computer (which I still have). At that time, I programmed in BASIC."
C 64 was my third computer. I was hoping I wasn't the oldest here.
I helped you out. Looking forward to the read.
@gattoman, thanks so much for the contribution! The book is coming along nicely, the first 1/3 is pretty close to complete (proofreading and design/layout).

I recently added a few new perks to the campaign specifically for game developers. They are opportunities to get some ad space in the final chapter of the book that is dedicated to additional online game development resources. There are open perks for an artist, sound engineer and template site if anyone is interested in checking them out.
I hate to be a 'shameless bumper' so I'll likely only bump this thread one last time during the last week of the campaign.
Thanks so much to everyone for the support on this!

Just contributed, hope it works!
@floatingwoo, thanks for the contribution!
The book will be published no matter what happens with the campaign. It's already been more successful than I thought it would be actually so I'm thrilled to see such interest.

Shhhhh...your not suppost to say that . Your supported to say ...
" **Nows the time, you can contribute to something awesome !!!! Be apart of the game salad revolution!!!Get in on the beginnings of a great project, that will impact the world....Well the game salad world anyway.**" Kick this campaign in the rear!!! $1000 is not a huge amount of money to generate, your self publishing book for crying out loud.
Your over $600 now, your nearly there!
When I think of the long hours you generously, selfishly I might add, put into doing all the great tutorials that lay out like a giant swath of information on the internet YouTube highway. It makes me want to yell out to all those would be gamers who took notes on every minute of your lessons "hey come on! whats $8, or $10 man, its a coffee at starbucks , a drop in the hat, save your lunch money your getting a little tight around the middle any way. Put it to good use and help out!!!
Hope this helps
@floatingwoo the problem is that there are so many scammers out there. Specially when someone makes a campaign stating they need the money for this and that, but when you look you realize its a flexible funding campaign. So in reality, they don't really need the money to make or do whatever they say, since regardless if the campaign is successful or not, they get the money still.
Im not saying @jamie_c is like this. Just explaining why some people may not contribute to the cause.

Oh no doubt, we live in a cynical world. A "take what you can, get into that exclusive club house and slam the door behind you" kind a world. But Jamie has a long track record of being super generous when he really didn't have to . He just felt like sharing he's passionate about what he does and that inspires others. And he's good at it , he's a teacher and great with people.
If any thing he may be too nice, but thats just me being cynical. No I saw an opportunity to help out. That was my Bill Murray rant of the day.
I support your rant @floatingwoo !
@jamie_c has paid his dues in spades and definitely deserves support in his venture.

Well I've known three people now that have had campaigns on "kickstart". One who's a member of a group from the 80's called "BigDaddy" who put out a new record, they ended up getting $30,000 for their efforts. It was amazing how little was left after all the effort ,studio expenses, disc replication, PR, It's tough putting something out there,even something worthwhile . You really got to get a ground swell for these things.
