@wanegroup, @KiwiLee, Thanks for the contributions! The book is coming along great, its just about two-thirds complete so I'm on target for finishing it in April.
@Chr0nos, thanks for the share and helping get the word out!
@floatingwoo, thanks for the support and cheering on the campaign. It's obviously made a difference, since I posted my final updates on various sites you can see the contributions have had a last minute burst!
@Lovejoy, I totally get what your saying about scammers. I did go back and forth with the flexible funding option and obviously decided to go with it. Since all of the perks involve getting a copy of the book in one format or another I feel that every supporter is essentially placing a pre-order for the book and is guaranteed to get what they have paid for. As I say on the campaign page, the only question is the quality of the finished piece. No matter what happened with the campaign the book would always have been published in some format. Since the campaign has clearly been successful, it will be able to proofread by a professional proofreader, had professional layout and design and have some good quality illustrations and photos included. Due to the support I've received I really think the book could be placed on a shelf at any bookstore and it would fit right in.
I had a late arrival to the campaign email me today as ask to donate at the $75 level so un-officially the campaign reached the goal!
I should receive the final 1/3 of the text back from the proofreader this weekend so the book should be available sometime toward the end of April as planned.
The book got finished and is currently available in print and as a pdf file. I can't put a direct link here in the forum, but I've added one to my signature below if anyone wants to check out the books website (It's the final link in the signature).
For those that contributed to the indiegogo campaign, I'll start filling perk orders this weekend. Thanks again for all the support!
@RThurman, thanks for the purchase and the vote of confidence. Means a lot coming from you! @NipaDidIt, Thanks. I hope so, I tried to make it the book I would have liked to have had when I was just starting Gamesalad.
@floatingwoo, awesome. I'm super glad to hear they are enjoying the class! If they have questions just let me know, though I'm guessing you can handle most of them yourself.
@jamie_c Yeah I want to upload our version of one of the games we made from the course to the arcade so you can check it out. I'm having some issues with that (another post)...
I've posted the book (Learn Mobile Game Development in One Day Using Gamesalad) on a special GSHelper.com only after Christmas sale for $10.00! That's $9.99 off the normal list price of the PDF version of the book for a limited time.
