Yup.... it looks like a spanking piece of kit... Im due a new iPad, so maybe if I'm a good boy for the next couple of months....
No UK pricing yet though....
Yeah, I just did the dollars to pounds thing and got £520 for the basic iPad Pro, but the conversion is never that simple, still both the iPad Pro and the Pencil look great !

So . . . . . iPad Pro, we are still 4:3 which is good news for developers.
Also at 2732 x 2048 pixels we will need x2.6666 (. . . ) assets, although I'm going to guess that a lot of people will simply work with x3 assets.
...or just well produced x2 assets.... as most people really won't be able to tell the difference at that size pixels, if the artwork is of a good quality.
Guess I'll have to buy an iPad Pro now also, just need to invent a good enough reason for doing so first
I would also bet my money on that the new Apple TV will be a huge success for Apple (much more so than any of the competitors) due to the upcoming app support which will be massive. Personally I would love if the GS team would support that device sooner rather than later.

Agreed, in a lot of situations 2048 x 1536 interpolated to 2732 x 2048 will look just fine.
I would have been interested in an iPad running OS X but this thing is just stupid (for me personally of course). For me a "pro" device needs to run the stuff I'm using daily for my work/hobby and with iOS the iPad Pro isn't capable of doing that in the slightest. No GameSalad, no Unity, no Photoshop, no Illustrator (but Flappy Bird, yay...). I know there's Codea, I know there are drawing apps on iOS (I've bought a lot of them) but to this day I haven't found anything comparable to the actual software I use to make games on OS X/Windows.
I'm waiting for the announcement of the Surface Pro 4. The Surface Pro 3 has a real OS, can run adobe software, Unity, GameSalad (luckily the Windows Creator is getting a lot better by the minute) and so much more. The idea of being able to work in Photoshop and GameSalad/Unity on my games while being on the move or just sitting on my couch excites me so much more than anything an iPad with a bigger screen could provide.
I guess at the kind of prices were talking about, once you add in the higher memory option and the stylus, there really are other options available that probably run a wider range of industry standard software....

Yes, I absolutely agree. Time will tell if the potential of the higher resolution and bigger screen will be utilized.
In my opinion they should at least have made some adjustments to iOS for the iPad Pro like folder management. Even if the apps will get better and more professional over time there's still the problem that iOS is very fixated on consumers instead of creators.

@Hoodloc ...very reasoned argument...
