You all need to read the last paragraph of the article linked in the first post. Big iAds revenue will be short lived once the novelty and curiosity of it wears off. Big money on iAds will be only for the early adopters/implementers. By the time GS gets around to including it...it will be small potatoes and most users will ignore it.

I VOTE FOR IN APP PURCHASING. That is where the real added value lies IMHO. The ability to sell additional game expansion packs and other "extras" could be huge for lightweight games created with GS. Would also be a way to market full versions from free versions.

But my hunch is...all of these (in app, iads, game center, etc) will be "PRO" version features and will be priced out of most of our reach at the bloody and absurd $2K/year cost.

But that would be stupid for Gendai to do. Most of us can't afford Pro, so if they want us to get Pro, they need to give us at least one feature that would give us extra income.

The question is, how many times he clicked the ads in his own app to get that money.

More interesting would be to read, how effective the iad campaigns are for the advertisers!

I advertised with AdMob once and I am sure, they employ students to click ADs the whole day.

From 1000 paid clicks I got 600 real visits and not a single "customer" and all clicks were a 1 second visits. I advertised my website.

As soon as advertisers realize that the system can be cheated by the company (hopefully Apple plays fair) or the developer itself, the hype will settle and iAd won't bring you so much money.

Inapp Purchase is more interesting in my opinion too.

I told you guys that i have already worked with google adsense and I know this thing is way better than that!! Imagine this baby working with my free games....OMG!!!

This guy sold a software app and took $1400 in a single day so imagine iads on games that every single player opens to play a while....or play in a whole month...Pause is necessary as I already have posted , as a resume option too ( if the user kills the app and comes back again ) but this thing ( iADS ) it´s the most genious thing i´ve ever seen in Apple´s market because it not only helps them ( of course ) but helps us developers in many ways to continue our hard jorney to dream in have a slice from the game market business!

Michael Jackson told it and I am going to rephrase it " THIS IS IT !!" T_T -> ^_^

iads = users happy = Lot´s of money = I am happy = first base!!

You're forgetting... you STILL need an app that will attract thousands of downloads a day. Do you have any apps doing that right now?

Elvis Presley also made millions from being a rock and roll superstar... maybe we should all try that?

His original post said 1000 downloads with 100 sales.

He's achieved all his goals though, he helpfully added later with prompting...

    QS :D

Now that I think about it; he probably used a iTunes account that wasn't the same as his dev account to click the ads. (My iTunes and Dev accounts are the same username.)

I'm sure you can't just keep clicking the same ads on the same device with the same account and rack up revenue. Apple, and the advertisers, are not that stupid.

This is not a real good example of an iAds payout. Not only is it one of the few iAds apps out there, it was the first (or one of like 4) flashlight apps to use the led. That's the only reason it got so many downloads

yep mulcahy has it in one

" His original post said 1000 downloads with 100 sales. "
the guy still believes in what I say??....T_T fool boy
my sales and downloads are pretty amazing to post here and I am really looking foward to this!
but my main goal here is to go against the money....what?....you ask!...well you see I am going against the ambition of taking money from the gamers giving all my future apps for free...so for you out there saying.." he only thinks about money" ....say that again please!!LOL and at the same time I am going to stealth camuflage ( solid snake style ) my gainnings....If you all want to byu a crystal ball and tarot cards to guess on new strategies be my guest!!

    T_T(LOL)

Realistically, I just released a dice rolling app for free with iAds and am getting about .1% of that number a day. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/concise-dice/id383275175?mt=8

Plus the fill rate is really low, since iAds are only available in the US and there are only 2 iAds. So on average with about 100 requests for ads, only 5 are being filled.

The plus side to this is that it will pick up over time as iAds launches internationally and more advertisers release their iAds.

Another plus is that Apple's payout for a click is about 10x higher than other advertisers, meaning one person clicking an add can bring in more than a paid $.99 download.

Yeah i have been going a little over a week now with one of my games
fill rate seems to be between 5-8%

ave made each day is almost always right on the $5 mark

Could be better but i wont complain since i was making nothing on it

    True.

It is better than nothing, and I do have confidence that all the numbers (fill rate, number of ads, markets, etc.) will increase over time.
