as there are so many modes now iphone/ipad (port+landscape), it would be nice if we could just create an ipad game 1024x768 but tell GS to publish as iPhone and have the app auto-resize the scene down to iphone modes. this was we would not have to maintain 2 versions of the same game.
You cannot do this as the aspect ratios are different. The iPad is 4:3 whereas the iPhones and iPod Touches are widescreen.
In addition, Apple will generally reject an iPad app if it is exactly the same as the iPhone version. Apple already does this through pixel doubling. They don't want people paying twice for the same app.
They recommend making a Universal App which contains both versions in the same bundle.
This version still doesn't work for me. I have to stick with GS 0.8.7. If I open a scene of my project, it takes GS 0.8.9 about 5 minutes (beach ball inclusive). With 0.8.7 it works within some seconds. I really don't know what went wrong with this new version. What has changed that could cause this behaviour?!

Updated today from Leopard (10.5.8) to Snow Leopard (10.6.4) and everything works fine again.

GS does not allow this currently.
