@conrad Apple TV would be a great platform for GS Devs. I'm not sure if GS will support the platform in the near future. I know that they seem very busy on creating a stables version of GS.
even so my fingers are crossed as It would be nice if they had support this year. They always do a great job of making sure GS works with the latest iOS and operating system.

They have been working on stable versions for as long as I have been using Gamesalad (5 years).

Apple TV looks really promising for game developers. Would be great if they could support this ASAP.

Yup... Im not normally that bothered by getting early support for a new device... but in this case I make an exception, and really would like to see GameSalad Apple TV support ASAP... :#

Hopefully GS wastes no time with Apple TV. But invests all resources in local and remote notifications, social media integration, desktop apps and desktop IAP. And WIndows, OSX and Linux export functions for Steam.

Nah... notifications are just annoying..no real need for them.

People just use Facebook to bitch about each other.... so no real need for social media stuff either...

Desktop app export for windows and steam.... yup...I agree with you on those :)

Seems to be TvOS apps are universil builds, ie if it works on iPad and iPhone as a universal app it should work on TvOS, I'm thinking this will be handled on apples side when publishing and all game salad need to do is update Thier publishing side!

I don't think from what I'm reading it requires much more that that! I could be wrong!

But I too would love to see this supported! And as a paying customer would highly expect it to be if it's a relitivly quick update

Hopefully we can get some comments from GS on this soon...a yeh or neh....a yep or nada...something.

I rather GS focus on making its product more stable and add the functionality its been lacking for ages(some of it is basic stuff). Having lackluster apps in even more markets doesn't sound too good imo.

As much as I like to support every game that is released from the GS community, do you really think GS games are up to quality enough to even think about releasing on the TV? Leave it for the professionals, the teams and the people who actually have the means to make good quality games.

You may have some developers here that would disagree with you. There are quality GS games that were hits on the app store that would play great on Apple TV. (and some that were not hits that would be great as well)

Why not the TV? The TV is not some holy thing above everything else. It's a vehicle for content just like the computer, mobile device, etc. It's a vehicle.

If you're talking about programs on TV - I have to sit through a godawful commercial, or some sitcom that I can't stand, why do those 'professionals' have a say in what's good or not and I don't? See, quality is relative. I may hate a commercial or a sitcom but someone else may love it. At least, everyone can have a say now, right?

I'm sure Apple will make everything look good just like they did with the app store so you don't have to search through junk, you can just browse through hand-picked curated content.

Everyone would like a stable release that goes without saying and it takes priority ... There is no argument there ... Saying that Creator already supports Fire TV so if it is a simple change to support the Apple TV why not? If it is not simple then it will not get done ... Simple as that ...

but there is a platform for each. And each should know where they belong.

Whether you like it or not, the tech world is changing as it always does, and the lines are blurring.

For example, Periscope is making an APP specifically for Apple TV.

Embrace it, or miss out on an opportunity.

Right now the hottest new thing is the watchOS and tvOS. You're going to see udemy courses popping up left and right. If GS got in front of the train and supported the SDk early, I think they would get a huge influx of users, even those just testing it out.

I think GS should support CarPlay ;)

So in this thread, theres been 2-3 mentions of push notifications being the most important thing GameSalad should implement. I just don't get it... but i am willing to be educated on the subject.

So why do some people rate push notifications so highly? From my personal experience, they're just an annoyance in games... there to pop up every so often to remind you that you should be buying something, or that you aren't playing a game enough...

I don't know... to me thats just not something I feel adds to a product. Definitely doesn't add to the user experience. Just seems like a method of pestering the user...

So yup... someone please explain to me that Im wrong...and why...

So for me... AppleTV would be way higher than push notifications...

    Push Notifications are required for:

    • Turn based Multiplayer games (e.g. "Your turn")
    • Keep users engaged (e.g. every XY days, XY hours)
    • Messaging, e.g. IAP Sale for some items
      -...

Push Notifications are the reason why Ketchapp games reach every time the top10 of the appstore charts. They send a message like "Try our new game ...".

So yup... apart from the turn based use... its pretty much just to pester the user. Not my sort of thing.

But maybe thats why Im pretty useless at making money with my games.

thanks for explaining it though..... :)

    I would call it a service :)

BTW: Every user could activate/deactivate notifications for every app.

Yes push or some kind of notification would be essential for multiplayer. I'm trying to work that out now with the url behavior.

Look! Waiting for a stable build is not going to happen! How many years will it take! Who knows! And who cares! GS is good enough as it is right now! Largely depends on what type of game your making but come on. It's pretty good already,

Now another viable Apple platform would be great for us GS developers! And the comment about the quality of games being made with GS and suitability for the TvOS is silly!

If your good at making game they will be quality games!

    Anyways
