@BlackCloakGS I understand now, anyways, you guys still have done an outstanding job with android and fire tv support.
@jonmulcahy Sounds like a prob. Especially since on Fire TV, the remote has so few buttons that can be used for the game. I wonder how it would go for tvOS.
The FireTV has full controllers that you can buy and they work pretty well. I will agree the FireTV remote is not a very good controller for a lot of games. Thought all of our templates work with the remote.
@BlackCloakGS I have mentioned in emails to support that I would be willing to have AppleTV as a paid venture, either as a fee based publishing option or some other creative financing to persuade you guys. I believe there are several of us here who would help finance the development in order to get in on the ground floor when the device is released to the public. If GS is serious about working on this, I would like to offer my Apple TV Developer Kit as a loan for helping this get off the ground. Assuming that loaning this out would be cool with Apple's guidelines.
Just wanted to revive this thread, and see if there's any update on GameSalad supporting AppleTV.
Don't really want it to get forgotten about. Did Gamesalad maybe manage to get a devkit in the second round of devkit releases...?
I'm seeing Unity are integrating support for it, and have it out for limited testing at the moment, so gonna be yet another compelling reason to consider switching development over to their engine, especially if GS really don't plan to support it anytime soon....
I don't know if it's 'official' but AppleTV apps MUST use iCloud and I believe Gamesalad is not planning on supporting iCloud. So to me that kind of means AppleTV probably won't happen anytime soon.
I agree @tmann. That is why I am taken the time to learn swift and how to use Xcode effectively.
Game Salad is an amazing tool but it has its limitations. For example the lack of features like, the ability to control the camera, audio recorder, and photos on a mobile device limit the type of application that you can build in GS. Furthermore, the lack of an in app purchasing system and game center support for Mac based publishing is rather unfortunate.
Lastly, there’s, the lack of joints, polygonal collision support, steam publishing, poor loading times and memory leakage issues. Now there’s no support for Apple TV.
As a result In order to enhance my games further and give me access to many more features I have taken the next step and have started to code with Xcode. That’s what I am doing now. Learning how to code!
Once again Game Salad is an amazing tool. However I need much more than what it has to offer right now. I will continue to use GS as a pro member yet I will soon make Xcode my core tool for game design.
Truthfully, GS has started me on the path to becoming a software developer. I will always be grateful to the GS team for leading me down this path.

Interesting article!
For GS support on AppleTV that would likely also mean that iCloud would have to be supported in order to store save data
Yep that is true. We right now do NOT have plans to support iCloud.
The potential come back of in game codes in order to restore some progress then..

@Chunkypixels I think we can safely assume that that boat is well and truly missed.
tvOS development is going to be revolutionary and huge brining a whole new audience to casual gaming and bite sized entertainment.
