When my XP exceeds the max (e.g. 220/200), is there a way for me to level up? I see + buttons next to MAX HP and MAX SP but they don't do anything.
Whoa! But my character suddenly has HP 174, SP 289, ATK 129 and DEF 81. I also have a ton of spells. This should be a lot easier now... lol. Then again, my XP is -2295730. Not sure if that was there before or after I paid 150 for a blessing (critical hits).

I wouldn't be able to offer a suggestion for how to fix the gold amount because I have no idea how you coded everything.
I mean, how is it possible that the adhoc build works fine, but this is a total mess? It's the same file, just signed with 2 different certificates.

Ok, there is some issue with the table i think... like golds, when you level up (touching the + next to MAX HP or MAX SP), it doesn't consume xp.
Please, try to delete the game and install it again

I don't know why the adhoc would be different from the TestFlight build.
I reinstalled but after getting 220/200 XP, the max HP and Max SP buttons still don't seem to do anything. And then, again, my character is a high level (30) with a huge negative xp and very high attack and defend skills.
I did some testing.
I think the errors are related to the management of the tables.
But they occur randomly, on adhoc, distribution and also on Android. Sometimes everything works, and sometimes it doesn't update the table.
Instead, no problem using Creator preview or the GS viewer.
I have absolutely no idea how to fix it.

Troubleshooting this kind of thing can be very tricky. If it never happens in Creator but does happen on mobile devices, it might be a timing issue. Because the processors and memory are different than on a desktop/laptop computer, if your table behaviors are inside of timers or rules that are based on time or very short windows of opportunity, they can function differently.
I've tried a lot of stuff, and MAYBE I made progress. But it's really hard to say, because I can't reproduce the errors every time, and I don't know if it's now 100% solved.
So...I need your help again A new build is in review, please make a clean installation, thank you!

Weapon selection during character creation still stops working after you tap a couple times
After passing xp requirement for Warrior - Level 1, tapping on + button next to MAX HP or MAX SP does nothing. After pressing X, character then is level 17 with negative XP points.
On level 3, It’s very possible that I just haven’t figured this out but I picked up a magic orb to open a magic door and then tapped on what I thought was the magic door but it didn’t open.
The amount of gold is still not decreasing correctly when upgrading my village. I can press multiple + buttons (way more than I have enough gold for) to improve my village but the displayed amount of gold never changes. After exiting from that and viewing my gold (e.g. in the Blacksmith), it shows a large negative amount (-8234) as if I’d actually purchased all of those upgrades.
I'm sorry, I didn't explain it well: the new update is still in review by Apple! I think you have tested the old one. But thank you anyway!

So Apple has to review every Test Flight build? That seems like a pain. I hope they're quick! Before they bought Test Flight, it was almost immediate when you uploaded a new build.
I'm also seeing the issue with suddenly jumping several (in my case 16) levels forward and having a negative XP.
A lot of the things that were confusing for @tatiang I had no problems with, because I played the first Mazes quite a bit, so I'm familiar with the mechanics -- but it must be said that for a first time player these things can be a bit confusing. Yes, it is explained in the manual, but unfortunately, today most people are not likely to read something like that and their early experience can affect your sales. I would suggest thinking about implementing some sort of mini-tutorial at the beginning.
For example, the fact that you regularly need to block, in order to rest and get several attacks in a row, is something that is crucial to understand for enjoying and mastering the battle system. But unless someone tells you about it, or you read it in the manual, it's not something you will understand intuitively. Here on the Forum you can explain it to @tatiang but not so with all your future players.

I hesitated to say so because I know how much work goes into a game like this and it always hurts to hear it but... I didn't have any fun the first few times I played the game. And I wanted to play it because I signed up as a tester. After reading @pHghost's post I think it's relevant to say it. As a first time player, I was definitely confused and more so frustrated at the difficulty level. I didn't understand why the monsters got a bunch of attacks in a row, I didn't know that that was connected to my tiredness, I didn't know I could do anything about my tiredness by blocking, I didn't realize that resting once quickly and then again quickly is much better than resting for a long time, etc., etc.
Now that I have a better sense for the game -- and that I understand that I'm building gold and items for my village (i.e. every future character will benefit even when my current character fails miserably), I'm enjoying it much more.

sadly, yes, even the beta versions have to be reviewed. But they are more quick at least.

Don't worry, I'm glad to hear your opinion and I think that criticisms really help to improve a game. But I focused on the technical aspect on your test because that's what interests me more now. Mazes of Karradash is a game for hardcore gamers. People enjoyed the idea of the manual instead of a in-game tutorial, but I'm planning to insert some "tips" on the loading screen to help people on their first run.
I didn't realize that resting once quickly and then again quickly is much better than resting for a long time, etc., etc.
This is just a feeling the chances are the same.

I will write here when the update is ready to download. Thanks again to both of you
It's ready: you can download it now using testflight
Please delete the old version before the new installation, thanks
EDIT: it seems to work for me. Let me know if it's the same on your devices @tatiang@pHghost

Version 0.3.3
This version works much better! I'm not seeing the problem of unresponsive buttons in weapon selection during character creation. I'm also not having the negative XP and incorrect (high) level character problem.
I made it to maze level 4 and got stuck. When I flipped the switch/lever, the gate didn't open and I couldn't go anywhere else
Also, when I restart with a new character, I can only start on maze levels 1, 2, and 3. Shouldn't I be able to start where I left off (level 4)?
Really getting the hang of this game now and enjoying it quite a bit. Having a rune really helps with combat!

Yes there is an error on the map (I've already solved it, but your version is still there) so you can't get any further, sorry!
Anyway, all the xp/gold/weapon issues are caused by the current version of the engine; now I've solved part of them by using attributes instead of table values just to test them, but I can't change all the game (I use table in almost every rules, and they worked perfectly before 1.24), so I'll wait for GS 1.25 to update a new beta

Haha! Good to know. I was thinking I missed a secret spot but I double- and triple-checked it and couldn't find anything.
@tatiang Based on the first Karradash, you first have to beat a level's boss before it opens up for starting selection. So, only once you beat the level 4 boss can you start there. I brought this up back then, as I think it better if you open level 4 by beating the level 3 boss and entering level 4, but it is a conscious decision by Federico, not a bug.
1) When you go to the next level, the sequence is a bit wonky. First, you change the tile layout for example from forest to dungeon, which looks like you teleported. Only then does the dungeon level load. If it takes a bit longer to load he next dungeon, I would cover the window view with something, either black, or some other placeholder.
2) When you level up your character, the displayed level and experience don't update, only once you exit the scene and then go back.
Lastly, going to the character menu and back to the dungeon has annoyingly long loading (iPhone 6).

It should appear a floppy disk to cover the screen. Maybe I put the "spawn actor" too late.

Same bug, I'm waiting for 1.25 to solve it.

I had to reach a compromise. You've also played the old version where combats were in a different scene. On average, the upload was longer and frequent, now are long just to get to the main scene.
Unfortunately, I do not know how to improve load times because the main scene is very complex. Maybe I could try to use the "pause behavior " to access the status screen ... I'll try it.

The floppy doesn't show up at all, so yeah, probably too late for the spawn.
Yes, the loading is much better than it was in the first version of the previous Karradash, but can still become quite annoying. I still think it would be worth the time putting the effort in to move this screen into the main scene, as you did with the combat.
@68kStudios Nice manual... you've really put some effort into it
How does the manual sit with mobile users though? Im guessing most won't bother to look it up or use it. The hardcore RPGers probably will, so its definitely a nice touch, that will win you hardcore fans... but its probably wasted on most mobile gamers.
Are you planning on publishing the game to other platforms other than mobile?
I was a big fan of your first Karradash game, so looking forward to the sequel
