Also you both posted promos on the forums right? Thats probably where he got them..
@Design, what's his email address? I'm not posting any more promos on the forums.. I don't want to give him one if he emails me.
I emailed him asking him for an early review of Kraken - seeing as he just spouts the same bullshit over and over, there's no need for him to even play it!

It's our friend Tony. He sent you an email I believe 219.
"There's one thing you never put in a trap, if you're clever, if you're smart, if you value your continuing existence, if you ever want to live to see tomorrow, there is one thing you never, ever put in a trap.
I never asked for five star reviews. I asked for honest ones... yes, I requested "review help" because those other reviews are targeted at GS and I honestly believe the game is good and if people give it a go, they'll actually enjoy it, hence leaving a decent review
As for the TA thing... WHAT A SHOCK!
Seems to have boosted my rankins a LITTLE (went from 300 and something to 200 and something (which I'd already previously reached)) but I'm so glad they put it on there!

Cheers for any tips.
Darren.
No. I did add at the end of my review request (please support the little guy so he can have a big future). LOL. Oh and the naked photos of the TA head cheese with a prostitute may have helped....
Cheers. I sent a complaint email to Apple about those reviewers... it wouldn't let me click on "report a concern" as I'm with the Aussie store, so if anyone could do that, it'd be greatly appreciated
LOL. Could still use the help... even if it just means clicking that those reviews weren't helpful and that the good ones were! This is a very bad time to have these reviews at the top of the list....
Just to say, I updated max vector to v1.1, and I wish I hadn't. Graphics now are...not good as they were. Bullets have no animation, enemies and big enemies seems more blurred and not sharp as before and..the spaceship still jump from place to place on my 3gs with latest firmware, and that was what I didn't like. Played again from start to finish, this time I lost one time vs the second form of z 80, highscore of 60000+, but the game seems easier. The third level seems to have less enemies. The bullets are slow, and first form of z80 doesn't shoot like before. There's not the third type of bullet anymore, the one with the little blue dots, and having the laser from the third level makes everything easier.
I do not like those changes, but I would have accepted them if the "jumping" problem was gone. Like this, I can't see why the changes took place.
So you played through the game TWICE and don't like it? Yes, things had to be changed to make it run smoother. Blame GS for that, it's so pathetic when it comes to memory management it's not funny. WE NEED MORE SPEED. As for the jumping problem... no issues here on a 3G iPod Touch or from anyone else so far... have you reset your device etc?
Really? Odd... I've done everything I can... feck it... on to the next project. LOL. I have had good feedback about the new difficulty levels. I wonder if TA reviewed the old or new version?
Still I do find it funny when people (like the guys in iTunes) play through a game and call it crap. I usually don't play crap games, not for more than a few seconds, anyway. LOL
This whole thing really has left a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to GS. The negative feedback generated JUST because I'm using GS really isn't worth it... I honestly think sales would be much higher, not to mention I wouldn't have those pathetic "trolls" targeting my games. I'll use GS for the next couple of games as I have no other choice but in the meantime I am studying objective C HARD. Have found an amazing book for complete beginners!
Of course if Gendai sort out performance issues (or I make enough cash to go pro and lose the bloody splash screen), I'll stick around ;-)
Never say I don't like the game I don't like the update. I mean, first, I had the jump issue. Now, I have the jump issue PLUS the graphics downgrade. I really like your game. Can't say it's a must buy, nor that it's one of the best shmup I ever played, but it's entertaining and I like the retro style. Without that style, probably I wouldn't liked it like I do. But! There are problems, and I think it's good for you and your game that those problems come out.
Okay, thanks for that. You're right. I did have to cut corners in places just to get it to run which is a REAL pain. We really need more speed as a simple game like this shouldn't be difficult to run on these very powerful devices. Thanks for the review, too!
I thought the jumping was just because I had old hardware, but I get it too (on my 2nd gen touch).. The games still fun though and I think the difficulty is great!
Also Im 99% sure the jumping problem is because you didn't set up multi touch... If you just move the ship around with your finger it doesn't do it.. But when your moving around and you start shooting, it starts jumping.. Your probably using mouse position x and y right? (For the ship) So to fix this, you'll have to implement multitouch for the ship and the button. It's not that bad, I'd look at CodeMonkeys joystick demo to figure out how to implement it. Good Luck

On the bright side all games have crappy reviews people look at the majority and a good review on TA speaks miles for the game.
I'm not heard back yet...

HOWEVER:
Being rubbish at games these days, I actually like the new difficulty level! I got to the last boss and had fun doing so!
One of my fave games!
