Also while your looking at the joystick demo, maybe you should implement a joystick as an option, looking at your reviews, I think its apparent people want more options, this could be a start.
Just tried doing the first level without shooting, just moving, and it's better, but at the boss it jumps anyway. I think the reason it jump more when shooting, it's just cause it has to spawn bullets, and that make the framerate go down even more. But, it's worth a try.
POLYGAMe said: Wow, all this time I'd just thought GS couldn't handle it. LOLOLOLOL
I'll get to work on it tomorrow. Hopefully get ANOTHER update out soon. LOL.
Updates never end! On the game I'm working on right now, (Announcing in a couple days to a couple weeks (depends on school, its starting again, ugh)) I'm NOT doing any updates unless theres improvements in GS or minor bug fixes, because updates just suck up so much time and if you dont hold yourself back, you'll be working on one game doing updates for it forever! (On the first game I made, I think i did like 10 updates (and it still sucked HAHA))

The multitouch when dragging and trying to fire is a real b*tch to sort out. In the end I found a not very elegant solution that involved the rules splitting the screen in half with the joystick only able to be operated by touch 1 and the fire button by touch 2. This was good for me in breakbeat as I didn't want you to be able to fire when sitting still anyway, the end result is that the player notices nothing but it stopped the jumping.
If you want to have a crack with the touch points colliding with different actors then look through the 2 joystick example project, that shows it working.
that joystick demo is fantastic for so many different things.
i used it as a starting point for my last game (starpilots which is still in review) there are two joysticks and two fire buttons and the touch points seem to sort things out just fine.
Yeah, I think I need to let Max go. By the way, I just got an email from one of those GS haters... he has REALLY lost the plot... perhaps this was his reply to Apple as I dobbed him in... psycho.
"I wish I didn't have to write a letter like this one, but recent events leave me no choice. So, without further ado, I present you with this all-important piece of information: Polygame's hypocrisy is transparent. Even the least discerning among us can see right through it. From what I understand, if we are going to speak objectively about Polygame's reports, we must understand that Polygame claims that its vices are the only true virtues. Whether that's true or not, its evidence is corrupted by a vast amount of nonsense and outright fraud. Before we can further discuss Polygame's claim we must acknowledge that we must reach out to people with the message that Polygame's rantings are indistinguishable from the ones it condemns. We must alert people of that. We must educate them. We must inspire them. And we must encourage them to address a number of important issues.
Polygame is an interesting organization. On the one hand, it likes to display an irreconcilable hatred toward all nations. But on the other hand, I assert that we should let it prattle on about how it understands the difference between civilization and savagery. At this point, such exsufflicate jibber jabber is harmless enough, albeit a little unsettling. Nevertheless, it does demonstrate how I and Polygame part company when it comes to the issue of sexism. It feels that children should belong to the state while I feel that its politics manifest themselves in two phases. Phase one: change children's values from those taught in the home to those considered chic by phlegmatic, socially inept half-wits. Phase two: usher in the beginning of a depraved new era of unilateralism.
Polygame is like a giant octopus sprawling its slimy length over city, state, and nation. Like the octopus of real life, it operates under cover of self-created screen. Polygame seizes in its long and powerful tentacles our executive officers, our legislative bodies, our schools, our courts, our newspapers, and every agency created for the public protection. It would be bad enough if Polygame's chargés d'affaires were merely trying to let rabid layabouts run rampant through the streets. But their attempts to draw unsuspecting cadgers into the orbit of conceited freeloaders are just plain splenetic. Here's a specific example of the way in which we must shape a world of dignity and harmony, a world of justice, solidarity, liberty, and prosperity—not just in the poetic sense, but in the very specific and prosaic terms I am outlining in this letter: It wants to take advantage of human fallibility to eliminate those law-enforcement officers who constitute the vital protective bulwark in the fragile balance between anarchy and tyranny. He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. Of course, people like Polygame who do in fact perpetrate evil foster and intensify its drug-drenched drama of immorality. I'll now end this letter by reminding you that the screeching from Polygame's materialistic Praetorian Guard reaches an ear-splitting pitch each time I mention that Polygame often uses the phrase, "Studies show that...", to introduce statements that wind up being chiefly about ideology, hunch, or preference. That may not be the profoundest of insights to take away from such a long letter, but Polygame may be engaged in extortion, racketeering, and/or money laundering."

Strange mixture of copied and pasted bits from different quotes/sites. There's bits of martin luther king and some bits from a religious site. How very odd
It's certainly the ramblings of a disturbed kid. I really feel sorry for him. No life to speak of other than posting rubbish reviews. Bless him. I wonder who he begged to borrow an iDevice from to play?
Jealousy really is a terrible thing. And having your game featured on TA obviously upset the little guy. Maybe if he tried a bit harder in school he could make a game one day?
Oh don't worry, he's been reported... I think he's a little "slow". No, I KNOW he's VERY slow. I'd like to see what games he's made! Hahahahaha! Ah, bless the "special" kids.

what the hell...? i didnt understand any of that ..
Hey all them codes are invalid does that mean their all used, you do put them in the redeem section don't you ? BTW congrats so far and what was the name of that book you mentioned ?
Hey mate, I think they usually tell you if they've been used. Maybe they have been though
I'm reluctant to put any more on here because of out friend Tony (and his troll mates) so if anyone wants a promo code, email me karl at polygame.co.nz and I'll sort you out. Don't forget your GS name, too!
The book is great! Only just started but very easy to read and designed for absolute coding noobs!
I doubt I'll be able to make awesome games at the end of it but it should give me the base I need to be able to study tougher books, OpenGL etc. Hopefully within 6 months to a year I'll be ready to start making games natively! Until then, I'll keep plugging away at GS in between coding sessions...

Funniest thing I have ever read! this guy is crazy haha
Hahaha, it's hilarious! He's sent loads more, all from different email addresses and laughing about how I don't know who he is... I don't care, I'm just having a great time reading! Hehe, gotta go learn lines now... audition for The Hobbit!!!!
Woohoo! Another mention on the front page of TouchArcade... this time for freebies... though I'm not sure if this is good or bad. HAHAHAHA:

Kind of funny. Pointless, but funny. Wonder how it came about?
