Whatever you do...DON'T RAISE THE PRICE. You are more likely to KILL the momentum if you jump to $3 as planned.
To be honest. This is a $1 game...albeit a top caliber $1 game. With this kind of exposure...you can only fuel the fire by maintaining a low price.
In the end...I am sure you will do better with low price + high volume rather than high price + low volume. This is why the top 20 games linger at the top...because they are $1.
Just my 2 cents. Congrats on the overnight success.
You can't argue with synth, especially when games like Dark Nebula 2 cost $1. Good god, the video intro alone must have cost a small fortune to produce. Seriously jaw-dropping quality title, IMO. (BTW, Episode 1 is free for this weekend.)
My point was... Most games are $1. Bumps is in there with Angry whatever, Doodle whatever and Pocket whatever...all $1. Its not a $2-3 app like 3D drivers, PvZ, Madden, other "Signature and Established Titles" etc.
IMO...this game (and all GS games for that matter) will not perform well at $2-3. He has a shot at big volume sales if he sticks to $1. Its just the nature of the app store...not a dig on his game. If he jumps in price...I truly believe it will be the death of the app...and once you lose momentum...the game is generally over for that title.
Good points, actually... the $2-3 ones do tend to be 3D, or big franchise names. I definitely agree that he needs to keep momentum up while it's doing so well, raising the price might look a little "greedy" to some and Bumps would lose traction, I reckon.
Its not about greed...its about the millions of 6-12 year olds scrupulously managing their paltry iPod allowances. And this app is geared towards them. Pre-Teens and teens DON'T spend more than $1 on no-name games.

She saw me chuckling at a couple of posts and read back through photics nonsense posts (in this thread and others) and just had to comment.
