the Unofficial GameSalad Textbook is now available... in Print and PDF.
If you want a printed copy, you can buy it for $29.95 through Lulu.

They're having a "Free Summer Shipping" sale and my book qualifies... but I think it's only for the United States.
The PDF version is still available for $19.98. You can save almost $10 and save some trees. The book works great in iBooks. The Table of Contents and the Index have lots of links for ease of navigation.
If you want to order the book, or if you are looking for more information about the book, you can visit my website...

Just kidding. PDF sample looks good, hopefully you'll still have it for sale at $19 when I get my paycheck on Friday.
Thanks for your contribution, it's very much appreciated here.
I referred someone that's thinking of using Gamesalad to this book, it's a great and I wish I had this almost 2 years ago!!

And it was a small bunch. He's free now, so the masses get to play with him... ahem...
All orders are up-to-date.
The PDF is far outselling the printed version. Not exactly a fair fight, as the printed version costs a lot more. The PDF version has those cool links and PDFs can be searched electronically, but the book is easier to read and has that new book smell. HA!
I still don't have my printed copy yet, but I think I like the PDF version more. I don't have to worry about ruining it and it doesn't take up space. Oh sure, your home or office can look cooler with a wall of books behind you. There are merits on both sides. But if you look at the poll and the sales numbers, perhaps it will be extremely rare to have a printed book in the future.
Weird, I think I knew every thing so far (looking forward to the maths and other bits later). But its great reading over it all again. Your views on each of the demos that come with GameSalad are nice to read too...Am I ready to set Game Salad to Ultra Hard and try a platformer?
Really nicely written, relaxed yet informative...
Just copied the PDF onto ibooks on my iphone (I now want a retina display). Still readable though in landscape.
Many thanks....
Great work.

Did you change the actor's friction? I'm thinking that should change the sliding.

I read an article that suggests printed books will be dead in five years...

I don't know if that's true, but it certainly seems the direction for Photics.com publications. E-books are cheaper and more accessible. Reading from a monitor is rough, but the ePub works on so many great devices... like the iPad and Retina Displays.
I'm planning to make the epub version of the textbook available in the download area once the textbook hits the iBookstore.
